COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Professor Kwaku Danso-Boafo was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Republic of Ghana in London.

Mrs. Danso-Boafo was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr. Benedikt Jonsson was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Iceland to the Court of St. James’s.

Mrs. Adalheidur Oskarsdottir was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr. Simon Martin (Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps, Foreign and Commonwealth Office) was present.

The Queen, Air Commodore-in-Chief, Royal Auxiliary Air Force, received Air Marshal Ian Macfadyen upon relinquishing his appointment as Honorary Inspector General and the Lord Beaverbrook upon assuming the appointment.

Ms. Helen Jones MP (Vice Chamberlain of the Household) was received in audience by The Queen and presented an Address from the House of Commons to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this morning received Mr. Timothy Brain upon relinquishing his appointment as Chief Constable, Gloucestershire Constabulary, and Mr. Tony Melville upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts, this afternoon gave a Reception at Clarence House.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Royal Colonel, 4th Battalion The Rifles, this morning visited the families of the Battalion at Kiwi Barracks, Bulford, Wiltshire.

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Kiwi School, Bulford.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, the New Queen’s Hall Orchestra, this evening attended a recital at St. James’s Palace and afterwards held a Reception at Clarence House.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this morning visited the Metro Project offices in Panama City, Panama.

His Royal Highness afterwards called upon the President of the Chamber of Commerce at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry.

The Duke of York this afternoon arrived at Mexico City Airport from Panama and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the United Mexican States (Her Excellency Ms. Judith MacGregor).

His Royal Highness later visited Morgan Crucible in Pachuca, Mexico.

The Duke of York this evening attended a Dinner for members of the British Business Community given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador at the Residence in Mexico City.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Royal Colonel, 2nd Battalion The Rifles, this afternoon received Lieutenant Colonel Robert Thomson upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Restoration of the Bishop’s Palace Gardens, Bath and Wells, this evening held a Reception for the Bishop’s Palace Appeal at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex this morning visited Thomas Wolsey School, Defoe Road, Ipswich, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk (the Lord Tollemache).

Her Royal Highness later visited DanceEast, Jerwood Dance House, Foundry Lane, Ipswich.

The Countess of Wessex this afternoon opened the Go Barmy Barn for children at Easton Farm Park, near Wickham Market, Ipswich, and was received by Mr. John Kerr (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Member, International Olympic Committee, and President, British Olympic Association, this afternoon departed Heathrow Airport, London, for Canada.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester this morning attended the launch of Families Activity Breaks at the Ministry of Defence Main Building, Whitehall, London SW1.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this morning presented the Wigmore Hall Medal to Dame Felicity Lott and launched the One Hundred and Tenth Anniversary Season at Wigmore Hall, 36 Wigmore Street, London W1.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, Patron, this afternoon attended a Tea Party to celebrate the Fiftieth Anniversary of Richmond Fellowship at 80 Holloway Road, London N7, and was received by Colonel Brian Kay (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
