COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The President of the Republic of Armenia visited The Queen today.

Mr. Justice Parker was received by The Queen upon his appointment as a Justice of the High Court when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Bachelor.

The Queen held a Council at 5.30 p.m..

There were present: the Lord Mandelson (Lord President), the Rt. Hon. Hilary Benn MP (Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), the Rt. Hon. Sadiq Khan MP (Minister of State, Department for Transport) and the Rt. Hon. Angela Smith MP (Minister of State, Cabinet Office).

The Rt. Hon. Sir Declan Morgan was sworn in as a member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Rt. Hon. Sir James Munby made affirmation as a member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

Miss Judith Simpson was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Lord Mandelson had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

The Rt. Hon. Gordon Brown MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Patron, Practical Action, this morning held a Meeting at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness afterwards received Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope upon his appointment as First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff.

The Prince of Wales, Royal Honorary Colonel, The Queen’s Own Yeomanry, this afternoon presented Operational Service Medals at Clarence House to soldiers who have recently returned from Afghanistan.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited the Warrior Programme, Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation, 446 Fulham Road, London SW6.

The Prince of Wales this evening received The President of the Republic of Armenia.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening gave a Dinner for Dumfries House and Yerevan supporters at Windsor Castle.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, today carried out the following engagements in Mexico.

His Royal Highness this morning received the Director General of ProMexico at the Intercontinental Hotel, Mexico City.

The Duke of York afterwards visited the British Embassy in Mexico City.

His Royal Highness later attended a Meeting with the Minister of Energy.

The Duke of York this afternoon attended a Luncheon with Mexican business leaders at the Club de Industriales, Marriott Hotel, Mexico City.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Reception for the Young Entrepreneur Awards at the Franz Mayer Museum in Mexico City.

The Duke of York this evening attended a Reception given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the United Mexican States (Her Excellency Ms. Judith MacGregor) at the Residence in Mexico City, and launched ‘Think Britain’.

The Earl of Wessex this morning opened the Cyber Knife Centre London at the Harley Street Clinic Cancer Centre, 81 Harley Street, London W1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this afternoon attended an Advisory Group Working Lunch at Simpson’s-in-the-Strand, 100 Strand, London WC2.

The Earl of Wessex, Royal Colonel, 2nd Battalion The Rifles, later received Lieutenant Colonel William Wright upon assuming his appointment as Commanding Officer.

His Royal Highness, Honorary Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex this morning attended a Meeting at Marks and Spencer Headquarters, Waterside House, 35 North Wharf Road, London W2.

The Princess Royal, Member, International Olympic Committee, today attended the One Hundred and Twenty Second International Olympic Committee Session at the Westin Bayshore Hotel, Vancouver, Canada.

The Duke of Gloucester this morning opened the Beacon Centre, Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, and was received by Admiral of the Fleet Sir Benjamin Bathurst (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset).

His Royal Highness this afternoon opened Sandford Station Retirement Village, Station Road, Sandford, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Lady Gass).

The Duke of Gloucester later visited the Urban Search and Rescue Station, Nailsea Fire Station, Pound Lane, Nailsea, Bristol.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Missing People, today received Mr. Martin Houghton-Brown (Chief Executive) and Sir Francis Jacobs (President, Missing Children Europe, UK).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Grand Master, United Grand Lodge of England, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at Freemasons’ Hall, Great Queen Street, London WC2, and afterwards viewed the newly renovated Connaught Rooms, 61-65 Great Queen Street, London WC2.
