Buckingham Palace
The President of the Republic of South Africa and Mrs. Zuma this morning visited No. 10 Downing Street where His Excellency had talks with the Prime Minister.
Mrs. Zuma remained to Breakfast with Mrs. Brown.
The President and Mrs. Zuma later visited Lewisham Town Hall, Catford Road, London SE6, and were received by Mr. Iain Wright MP (Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Children, Schools and Families) and the Mayor of Lewisham (Sir Stephen Bullock).
The President of the Republic of South Africa and Mrs. Zuma afterwards visited Sainsbury’s Supermarket, Bugsbys Way, Greenwich, London SE10, and were received by the Rt. Hon. Hilary Benn MP (Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), Mr. Justin King (Chief Executive Officer, J. Sainsbury plc) and the Mayor of Greenwich (Councillor Allan MacCarthy).
The President and Mrs. Zuma subsequently visited the Olympic Park site in the Lower Lea Valley, London E15, and were received by the Rt. Hon. Tessa Jowell MP (Minister for the Cabinet Office, Minister for the Olympics) and the Lord Coe (Chairman, London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games).
The President of the Republic of South Africa and Mrs. Zuma this afternoon visited the Palace of Westminster and were received by the Lord Speaker (the Baroness Hayman) and the Rt. Hon. John Bercow MP (Speaker of the House of Commons).
His Excellency addressed those assembled in the Royal Robing Room and The President and Mrs. Zuma subsequently attended a Reception with members of the South Africa All Party Parliamentary Group and other guests.
The President of the Republic of South Africa and Mrs. Zuma later visited Wembley Stadium, London HA9, and were received by the Baroness Kinnock of Holyhead (Minister of State for Africa and the United Nations) and the Chairman of the Football Association (the Lord Triesman).
The President and Mrs. Zuma this evening received an Address of Welcome and were entertained at a Banquet by the Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor and the City of London Corporation at Guildhall.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present.
The Lord Wilson of Tillyorn KT was received by The Queen today upon relinquishing his appointment as Registrar of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George and delivered up to Her Majesty his Chain and Badge of Office.
Sir David Manning was received by The Queen upon his appointment as Registrar of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George when Her Majesty handed to him the Chain and Badge of Office.
The Queen received the Bishop of Peterborough (the Right Reverend Donald Allister) who did homage upon his appointment.
The Rt. Hon. Jack Straw MP (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice) administered the Oath.
The Bishop of Guildford (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance.
The Rt. Hon. Gordon Brown MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of Her Majesty this evening.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Marshal, Royal Air Force, this morning received Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton (Chief of the Air Staff).
His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, received Major General Michael Huntley upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel Commandant and Major General Stephen Andrews upon relinquishing the appointment.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, The Queen’s Royal Hussars (The Queen’s Own and Royal Irish), received Colonel Christopher Coles upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Ian Mortimer upon assuming the appointment.
His Royal Highness, Senior Fellow, this evening held a Dinner to launch the Royal Academy of Engineering’s campaign, “making things better” at St. James’s Palace.

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Trust, this afternoon held a Meeting at Clarence House.
His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, Army Air Corps, this afternoon received Lieutenant Colonel Michael Cubbin upon the relinquishment of his appointment as Commanding Officer of 2 Regiment, and Lieutenant Colonel Tom Griffiths upon assuming the appointment.
The Duchess of Cornwall this morning joined children from Avondale Park Primary School for a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and met adult learners involved in the Quick Reads scheme as part of World Book Day, Foyles at Westfield, Westfield, London W12, and was received by Wing Commander Michael Dudgeon (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
Her Royal Highness, President, Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at the Ritz Hotel, Piccadilly, London W1.

His Royal Highness later received the recipients of the Children’s Champions Awards.
The Duke of York, Chairman of the Trustees, this evening attended a Dinner for the Outward Bound Trust given by The Prince of Monaco at the Palace in Monaco.
