Buckingham Palace

The Lord Mandelson (Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills) called upon The President of the Republic of South Africa at Buckingham Palace this morning.

The President afterwards attended a Breakfast with leaders of British and South African industry at Buckingham Palace.

The President of the Republic of South Africa and Mrs. Zuma, with the South African Suite in attendance, left Buckingham Palace this morning upon the conclusion of the State Visit to The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

The President afterwards attended the “Trade and Investment: Opportunities and Challenges in South Africa” Business Forum at Drapers’ Hall, Throgmorton Street, London EC2, and was received by the Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor (Alderman Nicholas Anstee).

His Excellency addressed the Forum on trade and investment opportunities and challenges in South Africa.

The President of the Republic of South Africa later attended a Meeting with The Prince of Wales and representatives from The Prince’s Charities at Clarence House.

The President of the Republic of South Africa and Mrs. Zuma afterwards visited the South African High Commission at South Africa House, Trafalgar Square, London WC2.

His Excellency and Mrs. Zuma subsequently gave a Reception at South Africa House for non-governmental organisations and charities working in South Africa.

Mrs. Zuma this morning visited the Garry Weston Centre at Hammersmith Hospital, Du Cane Road, London W12.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General, Royal Marines, this morning received Major General Buster Howes upon assuming his appointment as Commandant General.

By command of The Queen, Mr. Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Rafael Moreno at 37-41 Old Queen Street, London SW1, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Chile to the Court of St. James’s.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this evening called upon The President of the Republic of South Africa in London.

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Butler Trust, this morning held the Annual Awards Ceremony at St. James’s Palace.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust, this afternoon attended a Reception at the Farmers Club, 3 Whitehall Court, London SW1.

His Royal Highness, Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Masons, this evening attended the Master’s Banquet at Mansion House, London EC4.
