The Queen held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

Mr. Peregrine Banbury was received by The Queen this afternoon upon his retirement from Coutts and Company when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

The Rt. Hon. Gordon Brown MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Founder and Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Association, this morning received Mr. Gregory Belton (Chairman of the Trustees).

The Queen was represented by the Lord Carrington KG (Chancellor of the Most Noble Order of the Garter) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Lord Richardson of Duntisbourne KG which was held in the Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, London WC2, this morning.

The Duke of Edinburgh was represented by Dr. Gordon Johnson.

The Princess Royal was represented by Leonora, Countess of Lichfield.

The Duke of Kent was represented by Mr. Andrew Palmer.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by the Earl of Airlie KT at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Hon. Richard Beaumont which was held in Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square, London SW1, this morning.

By command of Her Majesty, Mr. Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Jaakko Laajava at 14 Kensington Palace Gardens, London W8, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Finland to the Court of St. James’s.

The Prince of Wales, President, Birmingham Royal Ballet, this evening attended a Gala Performance at Birmingham Hippodrome, 5 Hurst Street, Southside, to mark the Twentieth Anniversary celebrations of Birmingham Royal Ballet’s arrival in the city.

The Duke of York this afternoon attended a Luncheon with representatives of the Indian retail sector at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Religare in New Delhi.

The Duke of York later called upon the Minister for Commerce and Industry (Mr. Anand Sharma).

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Birthday Party for The Queen given by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of India at the Residence in New Delhi.

The Duke of York later attended a Dinner with members of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry at the Taj Mahal Hotel.
