Buckingham Palace

The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon visited the motorised submersible canoe Sleeping Beauty and unveiled a plaque to recognise the part played by the Special Operations Executive during the Second World War at Queen Mary Reservoir, Staines, and was received by Admiral Sir Nicholas Hunt (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Book Aid International, this evening gave a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning departed Royal Air Force Lyneham for Poland and were received upon arrival this afternoon at Fryderyk Chopin (Military Airport), Warsaw, by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Poland (His Excellency Mr Roderic Todd).

Their Royal Highnesses were later received by The President of the Republic of Poland and Madame Kaczynska at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall afterwards laid a wreath at the Tomb of Popieluszko at St Stanislaw Kostka Parish Church, Warsaw, and visited the museum.

Their Royal Highnesses later called upon the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland and Mrs Tusk at the Prime Minister’s Chancellery in Warsaw.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended a Dinner given by The President of the Republic of Poland at the Presidential Palace.

Mr Clive Alderton, Mrs Amanda MacManus, Mr Patrick Harverson, Miss Hannah Armstrong and Major William Mackinlay are in attendance.

The Duke of York this afternoon was received by The King of Bhutan at Linkana Palace in Tashichhodzong, Bhutan, and remained to Luncheon.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner with the Bhutanese Foreign Secretary.

The Princess Royal, Royal Patron, Scottish Motor Neurone Disease Association, this morning launched a new Glasgow Branch and opened a Patient and Carers Centre at 76 Firhill Road, Glasgow, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Robert Winter, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Medical Research Scotland, this afternoon attended an Open Day at Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, 232-242 St Vincent Street, Glasgow.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon attended the inaugural lecture of The Duke of Gloucester Lecture Series: Flood Risk and the Built Environment, at the Royal United Services Institute, Whitehall, London SW1.
