Buckingham Palace
Mrs. Justice Davies was received by The Queen today upon her appointment as a Justice of the High Court when Her Majesty invested her with the Insignia of a Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
Mr. Justice Newey was received by The Queen upon his appointment as a Justice of the High Court when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Bachelor.
The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr. Richard Northern (the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya) and Mr. Neil Wigan (the Democratic Republic of the Congo).
Mrs. Northern was also received by Her Majesty.
The following were received in audience by The Queen upon their appointment as British High Commissioners: Mrs. Victoria Treadell (New Zealand) and Mr. Shaun Cleary (the Republic of Mozambique).
Mrs. Cleary was also received by Her Majesty.
The Queen held a Council at 5.30 p.m.
There were present: the Lord Mandelson (Lord President), the Baroness Royall of Blaisdon (Leader of the House of Lords and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster), the Rt. Hon. Peter Hain MP (Secretary of State for Wales) and the Rt. Hon. Margaret Hodge (Minister of State, Department for Culture, Media and Sport).
The Rt. Hon. Sir Christopher Pitchford was sworn in as a member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.
Miss Judith Simpson was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.
The Lord Mandelson had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.
At the Council, The Queen pricked the List of High Sheriffs for the Counties of England (other than Cornwall and those in the Duchy of Lancaster) and Wales.
After the Council, the Baroness Royall of Blaisdon had an audience of The Queen when Her Majesty pricked the List of High Sheriffs for the Counties of the Duchy of Lancaster.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Honorary Air Commodore, this afternoon visited Royal Air Force Kinloss, Forres, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Moray (Lieutenant Colonel Grenville Johnston).
His Royal Highness, Chancellor, the University of Edinburgh, afterwards attended the opening of the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Centre for the Study of Islam in the Contemporary World, 16 George Square, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor George Grubb, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost).

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited the First Armoured Brigade, Wesola, Poland.
Their Royal Highnesses today attended a Reception given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Poland (His Excellency Mr. Roderic Todd) at the Royal Castle, Warsaw.
The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Youth Business International, this afternoon attended a Youth Business International event at the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
His Royal Highness, Patron, the Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership, afterwards attended a Corporate Leaders’ Group Roundtable Discussion on Climate Change at Sobanski Palace, Warsaw.
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon departed Fryderyk Chopin (Military Airport), Warsaw, for Hungary and were received upon arrival at Ferihegy Airport, Budapest, by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Hungary (His Excellency Mr. Gregory Dorey).
Their Royal Highnesses were later received by The President of the Republic of Hungary.
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended a Dinner given by The President at Sandor Palace, Budapest.

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon departed Heathrow Airport, London, for Canada and later arrived at Vancouver International Airport, British Columbia.

The Countess of Wessex today visited Growing Point, Holme Lacey College, Holme Lacey, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire (the Countess of Darnley).
Her Royal Highness, President, Breast Cancer Haven Guardians, this afternoon visited Breast Cancer Haven, 37 St. Owen Street, Hereford, Herefordshire.
The Countess of Wessex afterwards visited Cre8a Space, Centre 18 Symonds Street, Hereford.
Her Royal Highness later visited Hope Family Centre, Hereford Road, Bromyard, Herefordshire.

The Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon opened the Willow Wing at Loros (Hospice Care for Leicestershire and Rutland), Groby Road, Leicester, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire (Jennifer, Lady Gretton).
Her Royal Highness later visited Leicester Animal Aid, Elmwood Farm, Forest Road, Huncote, Leicester.
