The Queen held a Council at 10.00 a.m.
There were present: the Baroness Royall of Blaisdon (acting for the Lord President), the Rt. Hon. Jim Murphy MP (Secretary of State for Scotland) and the Rt. Hon. Christopher Geidt (Private Secretary to The Queen).
Miss Judith Simpson was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.
The Baroness Royall of Blaisdon had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Permanent Master, the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights, was represented by Mr. Graham Clarke (Prime Warden) at the Memorial Service for Sir Charles Alexander (Past Prime Warden) which was held in the Church of St. Lawrence Jewry-next-Guildhall, London EC2, today.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this morning received Mr. Simon Hodge (Chief Executive, Forestry Enterprise Scotland) and Dr. Hugh Insley (formerly Chief Executive, Forestry Enterprise Scotland).
His Royal Highness afterwards held a Meeting with Deeside food providers and hoteliers.

The Duke of York this morning visited Corus, Shotton Works, Deeside, Flintshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Clwyd (Mr. Trefor Jones).
His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Mersey Multimodal Gateway 3MG, Kingsway, Widnes, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire (Mr. David Briggs).
The Duke of York later visited the Science and Technology Facilities Council at Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus, Warrington, Cheshire.
His Royal Highness, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this evening gave a Dinner for representatives of the media, publishing and creative industries.

The Earl of Wessex, Royal Honorary Colonel, this morning visited The Royal Wessex Yeomanry on Pre-Deployment Exercise at Netheravon Camp, Wiltshire.

The Princess Royal, President, Royal Yachting Association, this morning opened Portland House, Mulberry Avenue, Portland, and was received by Mr. James Gibson Fleming (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset).
Her Royal Highness, President, afterwards visited the Royal Yachting Association Performance Unit at Osprey Quay, Portland Marina, Portland.
The Princess Royal, President, this afternoon attended the Royal Yachting Association Youth National Championships and Trials at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, Osprey Quay, Portland Marina, Portland.
Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Butler Trust, later visited Portland Young Offenders Institute, 104 the Grove, Easton, Portland, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset (Mrs. Anthony Pitt-Rivers).
Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park
Princess Alexandra, Patron and Air Chief Commandant, Princess Mary’s Royal Air Force Nursing Service, this afternoon received Group Captain Jacqueline Gross at Buckingham Palace upon relinquishing her appointment as Matron-in-Chief of the Royal Air Force and Group Captain Philip Cushen upon assuming the appointment.
