Windsor Castle

Major General Matthew Sykes was received by The Queen this afternoon upon relinquishing his appointment as Defence Services Secretary when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

Air Vice Marshal the Hon. David Murray was received by The Queen upon assuming the appointment of Defence Services Secretary.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this morning visited CSE-Servelec, Rotherside Road, Eckington, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire (Mr. William Tucker).

His Royal Highness, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, later opened the new headquarters of Camira Fabrics at Hopton Mills, Mirfield, West Yorkshire.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this afternoon attended a Business Lunch at the University of Huddersfield, Queensgate, Huddersfield, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Dr. Ingrid Roscoe).

His Royal Highness, Patron, afterwards presented The Duke of York’s Community Initiative Awards at St. Paul’s Hall, University of Huddersfield.

The Duke of York, Admiral, the Marine Society and Sea Cadets, subsequently visited Leeds Sea Cadet Corps Unit, TS Ark Royal, Thwaite Mill, Thwaite Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire.
