COURT CIRCULAR

Windsor Castle

The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Sir Angus Farquharson (formerly Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire) at the Service of Thanksgiving for Captain Colin Farquharson of Whitehouse (formerly Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire) which was held in St. Machar’s Cathedral, Aberdeen, this morning.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Mr. Marcus Humphrey.

The Princess Royal was represented by Mrs. Clare Russell.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Past President, Smeatonian Society of Civil Engineers, was represented by Mr. Gwilym Roberts (Past President) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Surgeon Vice Admiral Sir James Watt (Past President) which was held in Winchester Cathedral this afternoon.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, today carried out the following engagements in Kyiv, Ukraine.

His Royal Highness this morning attended a Meeting with British businessmen.

The Duke of York was received this afternoon by The President of Ukraine.

His Royal Highness afterwards called upon the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

The Duke of York later attended a Meeting with Mr. Kostyantyn Hryshchenko (Foreign Minister).

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Ukraine.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this afternoon departed Royal Air Force Lyneham for Canada.

Having arrived in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Her Royal Highness attended a Special Convocation at the Memorial University of Newfoundland and received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws.

The Princess Royal this evening attended a Reception at the Delta Hotel, St. John’s, for Canadian Alumni of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conference.

Her Royal Highness subsequently presented awards at the Delta Hotel to young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, Royal Newfoundland Regiment, afterwards attended a Regimental Reception at Government House, St. John’s.

Mrs. Charles Ritchie is in attendance.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited Discover Greenwich Visitor Centre at Greenwich Foundation for the Old Royal Naval College, 2 Cutty Sark Gardens, Greenwich, London SE10, and was received by Colonel Cyril Young (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended the Royal Society of St. George (Westminster Branch) St. George’s Day Luncheon at Woolwich Barracks, Repository Road, Greenwich, London SE18.

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, later attended the Society of Antiquaries of London Anniversary Meeting at Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Patron, this evening attended an opera performance by Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance at Blackheath Halls, 23 Lee Road, London SE3.
