Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr. Johan Verbeke was received in audience by The Queen this afternoon and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Kingdom of Belgium to the Court of St. James’s.

Mrs. Verbeke was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr. Aristidis Sandis was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Hellenic Republic to the Court of St. James’s.

Mrs. Ekaterini Simopoulou was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr. Simon Martin (Vice Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps, Foreign and Commonwealth Office) was present.

The following members of Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms were received by The Queen: Lieutenant Colonel the Hon. Guy Norrie who delivered up his Stick of Office upon his retirement as Lieutenant, Lieutenant Colonel Peter Chamberlin who delivered up his Stick of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Clerk of the Cheque and Adjutant and received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Lieutenant, Major Jeremy Warren who received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Clerk of the Cheque and Adjutant, Colonel Robert ffrench Blake who delivered up his Stick of Office upon his retirement as Harbinger and Colonel Sir Brian Barttelot, Bt. who received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Harbinger of Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms.

The Rt. Hon. Tessa Jowell, MP had an audience of The Queen and took leave upon relinquishing her appointment as Minister for the Cabinet Office, Olympics and Paymaster General.

The Rt. Hon. David Miliband, MP had an audience of Her Majesty and took leave upon relinquishing his appointment as Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.

The Rt. Hon. Jim Murphy, MP had an audience of The Queen and took leave upon relinquishing his appointment as Secretary of State for Scotland.

The Lord Adonis had an audience of Her Majesty and took leave upon relinquishing his appointment as Secretary of State for Transport.

The Prince of Wales, President, this afternoon gave a Reception for Friends of The Prince’s Regeneration Trust.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended the Great British Menu Dinner at the Assembly Rooms, Bath, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Lady Gass).

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, today undertook the following engagements in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Meeting with the President of Petronas at the Petronas Twin Towers.

The Duke of York this evening attended a Reception given by the British Malaysia Chamber of Commerce.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Dinner given by the British High Commissioner to Malaysia (His Excellency Mr. Boyd McCleary) at the Residence.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this morning attended a Meeting with Young Fellows of the Award.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman, International Special Projects Group (for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award), afterwards held a Meeting.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this afternoon attended a Luncheon with Pilgrims at Brook Club, 111 East 54th Street.

The Earl of Wessex later visited the British Consulate-General, 845 Third Avenue, and was received by Her Majesty’s Consul-General for New York (Sir Alan Collins).

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception at the British Consulate-General.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, afterwards attended a World Fellowship Dinner at the Core Club, 66 East 55th Street.

Her Royal Highness afterwards opened the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust’s Graham Anderson House, 1161 Springburn, Glasgow.

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, and Colonel-in-Chief, Royal New Zealand Army Medical Corps, this afternoon arrived at Wellington International Airport, New Zealand.
