Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Dr. Suresh Chandra Chalise was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to the Court of St. James’s.

Dr. Milan Adhikary was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr. Choo, Kyu Ho was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Korea to the Court of St. James’s.

Mrs. Choo, Jung Won was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Peter Ricketts (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

The Hon. Simon Richardson and the Hon. Lady Riddell were received by The Queen and delivered up the Insignia of the Order of the Garter worn by their father, the late Lord Richardson of Duntisbourne.

Miss Mary Savignon was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested her with the Insignia of a Member of the Royal Victorian Order.

The Rt. Hon. John Spellar MP was received by The Queen this afternoon when he delivered up his Wand of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Comptroller of the Household.

Ms. Helen Jones MP was received by Her Majesty and delivered up her Wand of Office upon relinquishing her appointment as Vice-Chamberlain of the Household.

The Lord Bassam of Brighton was received by The Queen and delivered up his Stick of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Captain of Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms.

The Lord Davies of Oldham was received by Her Majesty and delivered up his Stick of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Captain of The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard.

The Baroness Farington of Ribbleton and the Baroness Thornton were received by The Queen and took leave upon relinquishing their appointment as Baronesses in Waiting to Her Majesty.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Senior Colonel, Household Division, this morning received Major General William Cubitt (General Officer Commanding London District and Major General Commanding the Household Division).

His Royal Highness, President, City and Guilds of London Institute, presented The Prince Philip Medal at Buckingham Palace and subsequently attended a Luncheon at William Kent House, the Ritz Hotel, Piccadilly, London W1.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Grand President, Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League, this afternoon chaired a Meeting of the Council at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, President, Business in the Community, afterwards led a Seeing is Believing visit to Caedmon Primary School, Attlee Road, Middlesbrough.

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, this afternoon opened the Mayfair Unit, Esplanade, Redcar.

His Royal Highness, President, Business in the Community, later visited Corus Teesside Cast Products, Teesside Works, Redcar.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, today undertook the following engagements in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

His Royal Highness this morning visited Nottingham Malaysia University to mark its Tenth Anniversary.

The Duke of York afterwards opened HSBC Amanah, Cheras Branch.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended the United Kingdom-Malaysia Partnership Dialogue Lunch at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

The Duke of York later attended a Meeting with the Minister of International Trade and Investment at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

His Royal Highness afterwards called upon the Prime Minister of Malaysia at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The Duke of York subsequently attended a Meeting with the Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception and afterwards attended a Dinner for the World Islamic Economic Forum given by the Prime Minister of Malaysia at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, Central Caribbean Marine Institute, later attended a Reception at Gallery 151.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Women’s Royal Naval Service Benevolent Trust, today attended the Annual General Meeting at HM Naval Base, Portsmouth, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).
