COURT CIRCULAR
Buckingham Palace
The Queen arrived at Crewe Railway Station this morning and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire (Mr David Briggs), the Mayor of Cheshire East (Councillor Gordon Baxendale) and the Mayor of Crewe (Councillor Jacqueline Weatherill).
Her Majesty drove to Reaseheath College, Nantwich, and was received by the Chair of Governors (Mr John Platt).
The Queen toured the Equine Centre, escorted by Mr Meredydd David (College Principal) and met students undertaking equine practical skills and viewed a master class display, before officially opening the Centre.
Her Majesty subsequently toured the College and met more students.
The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, later visited The Royal Welsh at Chester Racecourse and was received by the Colonel (Major General Roderick Porter), the Chief Executive of Chester Racecourse (Mr Richard Thomas) and the Mayor of Chester (Councillor Neil Ritchie).
Her Majesty was received on parade with a Royal Salute.
Prayers of Thanksgiving to mark the safe return of the 1st Battalion from operations in Afghanistan were conducted by the Bishop of Chester and the Chaplain of the Battalion.
The Queen subsequently presented Campaign Medals to 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh and the parade marched past Her Majesty.
The Queen this afternoon attended a Reception with soldiers, families, veterans and cadets and was afterwards entertained to Luncheon by the Colonel.
Today is the Eighty Ninth Anniversary of the Birthday of The Duke of Edinburgh.
His Royal Highness, President, this evening attended a Dinner to mark the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Queen’s Cup at the Guards Polo Club, Smith’s Lawn, Windsor Great Park.
Clarence House
The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall and The Duchess of Cornwall, Joint Presidents, this morning visited the Royal Cornwall Show at the Showground in Wadebridge and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (the Lady Mary Holborow).
Buckingham Palace
The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this morning visited Unilever, St Petersburg, Russia.
His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Lunch with Mr Sergei Adoniev (Executive Manager, Yota Telecommunications).
The Duke of York later laid a basket of flowers at the Monument to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad in St Petersburg and subsequently toured the Museum.
His Royal Highness afterwards attended a briefing on development at Pulkovo Airport.
The Duke of York later arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, from Russia.
Mr Alastair Watson was in attendance.
Buckingham Palace
The Princess Royal, President, British Olympic Association, today attended a National Olympic Committee Meeting at 60 Charlotte Street, London W1.
Her Royal Highness, Royal Honorary Colonel, University of London Officers’ Training Corps, this afternoon received Lieutenant Colonel Henry Sugden at Buckingham Palace upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Methven upon assuming the appointment.
The Princess Royal, President, Animal Health Trust, this evening held a Dinner at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace.
Kensington Palace
The Duke of Gloucester this morning attended the Annual Founder’s Day Parade and Reception and officially opened the newly restored North-East Wing of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3.
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Kent this morning visited Royal Air Force Brampton, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, in celebration of the Seventieth Anniversary of the Joint Air Reconnaissance Intelligence Centre.
His Royal Highness, Colonel, Scots Guards, this evening attended Beating Retreat by the Household Division on Horse Guards Parade, London SW1.
