Government House, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh left Heathrow Airport, London, this morning to visit Canada.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were received at the Airport by the Earl Peel (Lord Chamberlain), Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer), the High Commissioner for Canada (His Excellency Mr James Wright) and Mr Terry Morgan (Technical Standards and Assurance Director, British Airports Authority).

This afternoon The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh arrived at Robert L. Stanfield International Airport, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and were received by the Hon Peter MacKay MP (Minister in Attendance).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness drove to Garrison Grounds, Halifax, and were received by the Governor-General of Canada (the Rt Hon Michaelle Jean), the Prime Minister (the Rt Hon Stephen Harper MP), the Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia (Her Honour the Hon Mayann Francis) and the Premier of Nova Scotia (the Hon Darrell Dexter).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were received with a Royal Salute and witnessed a fly-past by the Snowbirds and Her Majesty subsequently reviewed the Guard of Honour.

The Queen addressed those present and The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh subsequently walked through Garrison Grounds.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards visited Mi’kmaq Village, Halifax Common, and were received by Grand Chief Sylliboy and Grand Keptin Andrew Denny.

The Queen, escorted by the Grand Chief, and The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted by Sister Dorothy Moore (Director of Mi’kmaq Services, Nova Scotia Department of Education) toured the Village, viewing cultural activities and meeting local people.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh later drove to Government House and Her Majesty unveiled a plaque to mark the Re-dedication of Government House.

The Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia surrendered to The Queen the Keys of the City of Halifax, which Her Majesty returned to her.

The following are in attendance: Diana, Lady Farnham, the Lady Susan Hussey, the Rt Hon Christopher Geidt, Mr Edward Young, Ms Samantha Cohen, Surgeon Captain David Hett RN, Group Captain Timothy Hewlett and Brigadier Sir Miles Hunt-Davis.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Campaign for Wool, this morning visited the National Wool Museum, Dre-fache Felindre, and afterwards attended a Reception, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dyfed (the Hon Robin Lewis).

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening gave a Reception for local residents.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this afternoon attended a Briefing with the Rt Hon George Osborne MP (Chancellor of the Exchequer) at the Treasury, London, SW1, and remained to Luncheon.

His Royal Highness, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, later received the Rt Hon Dr Vincent Cable MP (Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills).

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this evening gave a Dinner at Buckingham Palace for the London Middle East Institute of the School of Oriental and African Studies.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal today visited Cornwall and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant (the Lady Mary Holborow).

Her Royal Highness this morning opened the first phase of the re-development of Penwith College, Truro and Penwith College, St Clare Street, Penzance.

The Princess Royal afterwards visited Trewidden Studios, Trewidden House, Buryas Bridge, Penzance.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited Trengwainton Garden, Madron.

The Princess Royal later visited Porthcurno Telegraph Museum, Eastern House, Porthcurno.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited Angkor Archaeological Park, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Luncheon at Angkor Archaeological Park.

The Duke of Gloucester this evening departed Siem Reap Airport for the United Kingdom.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, today was present at the President’s Lunch and afterwards attended the Wimbledon Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Church Road, Wimbledon, London SW19.
