COURT CIRCULAR

Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning departed from MacDonald Cartier International Airport, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and were received this afternoon on arrival at James Armstrong Richardson International Airport, Winnipeg, by the Lieutenant-Governor of Manitoba (His Honour the Hon Philip Lee) and the Premier of Manitoba (the Hon Greg Salinger).

Her Majesty, escorted by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Winnipeg Airports (Mr Arthur Mauro) and His Royal Highness, escorted by Mr Barry Rempel (President and Chief Executive Officer) walked through the terminal to “Queen’s Court” and The Queen signed and subsequently placed a Letter written by Her Majesty to the future young people of Manitoba in a time capsule.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh drove to Government House, Winnipeg, and were subsequently entertained to Luncheon by the Province of Manitoba.

Her Majesty this afternoon unveiled a statue in the Garden of Government House.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh later visited Esplanade Riel Footbridge, the Forks, Winnipeg.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards visited the dedication site of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights and were received by the Chairman (Mr Arni Thornstein).

The Queen laid the foundation stone of the Museum and, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, subsequently viewed the First Canadian Concert for Human Rights.

Her Majesty afterwards addressed those present.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening departed Canadian Forces Base Winnipeg and were received later on arrival at Pearson International Airport, Toronto by the Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario (His Honour the Hon David Onley) and the Premier of Ontario (the Hon Dalton McGuinty).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Colonel, The Blues and Royal (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons), this morning attended a Household Cavalry Welcome Home Parade and Service of Thanksgiving, Combermere Barracks, Windsor, Berkshire.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President, All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, this afternoon attended the Ladies Finals of the Wimbledon Championships at Church Road, Wimbledon, London SW19.
