COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen this morning received members of the Commonwealth Eminent Persons Group.

The Commonwealth Secretary-General (His Excellency Mr. Kamalesh Sharma) was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr. Carlos Argüello Gómez was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Nicaragua to the Court of St. James’s.

Mrs. Sherly Noguera de Argüello was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Datuk Zakaria Sulong was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for Malaysia in London.

Datin Hazizah Zakaria was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr. Martin Donnelly (Acting Permanent Under-Secretary, Foreign and Commonwealth Office) was present.

Sir Stuart Hampson (First Crown Estate Commissioner and Chairman, the Crown Estate Commission) was received by The Queen.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Princess Royal and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present.

Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms and The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.

The Bands of the Royal Regiment of Artillery and the Light Cavalry played selections of music during the afternoon.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning chaired the judging of The Prince Philip Designers Prize at Buckingham Palace.

The Prince of Wales, Chairman, the Royal Collection Trust, this morning chaired a Meeting of the Trustees.

His Royal Highness, President, this afternoon held a Meeting for The Prince’s Trust.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Royal Colonel, 4th Battalion The Rifles, this afternoon received Lieutenant Colonel Rupert Jones upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Thornton upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, today visited the Farnborough Airshow, Farnborough, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

His Royal Highness attended Meetings at the Farnborough Airshow with Prince Feisal Ibn Al Hussein (Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs-of-Staff), the Hon. Dato’ Dr. Ahmed Zahid bin Hamidi (Malaysian Defence Minister), Mr Pallam Raju (Indian Minister of State for Defence), Mr. Shephard Hill (President of Boeing International) and Mr. Paul Davison (Vice President, Defence of Northrop Grumman).

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this afternoon gave a Luncheon for Inward Investors at the Farnborough Airshow.

His Royal Highness, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this evening gave a Reception at St. James’s Palace for the Farnborough Airshow.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, later attended a Dinner given by Rolls-Royce to mark the Farnborough Airshow at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3.

The Countess of Wessex this morning visited the Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association Shop, 28 East Main Street, Whitburn, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Lothian (Mrs. John Brydie).

Her Royal Highness, President, Girlguiding UK, today visited the Girl Guide Centenary Camp at Netherurd House, Blythe Bridge, West Linton, Peeblesshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Tweeddale (Captain David Younger).

The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, The King’s Royal Hussars, this morning received Colonel Giles Harrison upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Potts upon assuming the appointment.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Catch 22, this afternoon attended the launch of the newly formed Catch 22 network at Tate Modern, Bankside, London SE1.

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Intensive Care Society, this evening attended a Reception at the London Clinic, 22 Devonshire Place, London W1.

The Duke of Gloucester this morning received the Ambassador from the Republic of Korea (His Excellency Mr Choo Kyu-Ho).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this evening was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Society of Medicine at the Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole Street, London W1.
