The Queen held a Council at 5.30pm.
There were present: the Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP (Lord President), the Lord Strathclyde (Leader of the House of Lords and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster) and the Rt Hon Cheryl Gillan MP (Secretary of State for Wales).
The Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, the Rt Hon Nicholas Herbert MP, the Rt Hon Carwyn Jones MP, the Rt Hon David Mundell MP, the Rt Hon Grant Shapps and the Rt Hon Theresa Villiers MP were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Chancellor, the University of Cambridge, this evening held a Reception for the outgoing Vice-Chancellor (Professor Dame Alison Richard) at St James’s Palace.
By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Dr Ihor Kharchenko at 60 Holland Park, London W11, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from Ukraine to the Court of St James’s.
By command of Her Majesty, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon Her Excellency Mrs Hamida M’rabet Labidi at 29 Prince’s Gate, London SW7, in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as Ambassador from the Tunisian Republic to the Court of St James’s.
By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Mohamed Taha Mustafa at 57 Cromwell Road, London SW7, in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Yemen to the Court of St James’s.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Windrush Square, Brixton, London SW2, and were received by Miss Kathryn McDowell (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited Brixton Village, Brixton Market, Brixton, London SW9, and were received by Ms Kathryn McDowell (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Regeneration Trust, afterwards visited the Railway Hotel, 20 Atlantic Road, Brixton, SW9.
His Royal Highness later visited All Saints Church, Blenheim Grove, Peckham, London SE15, and was received by Mrs Jennifer Bianco (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Almshouse Association, in the afternoon visited Trinity Hospital Almshouse, Old Woolwich Road, Greenwich, London SE10, and was received by Colonel Cyril Young (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
His Royal Highness, President, Business in the Community, later attended a Reception for the Mosaic Summer School at the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall, London SW1.
The Prince of Wales this evening received Major General Michael Jeffery (formerly Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia).
His Royal Highness, Patron, later gave a Dinner for Macmillan Cancer Support at Clarence House.
The Duchess of Cornwall, President, Ebony Horse Club, this afternoon visited the sight of the proposed riding centre, Wyck Gardens, Brixton, London SW9.

His Royal Highness, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this evening attended a Reception given by Prince Abdul Aziz Al Saud to mark the Farnborough Airshow at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK), later attended the Eighth Annual Transport Practitioners’ Meeting at the University of York, Heslington, York, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (the Lord Crathorne).
