The Duke of Edinburgh, Chancellor, the University of Edinburgh, this morning undertook the following engagements.
His Royal Highness visited the Centre for Systems Biology, the C. H. Waddington Building, Mayfield Road, Edinburgh.
The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards visited the Learning and Teaching Cluster at the James Clerk Maxwell Building in Mayfield Road.
His Royal Highness later officially opened the Clinical Research Imaging Centre at The Queen’s Medical Research Institute, 47 Little France Crescent, Edinburgh.
The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Sir John Weston (formerly United Kingdom Ambassador to the United Nations in New York) at the Memorial Service for Sir Robin McLaren (formerly Her Majesty’s Ambassador to China) which was held in the Chapel of Royal Holloway, University of London, Egham, Surrey, this afternoon.

The Princess Royal this morning visited Strathgarve Primary School, Garve, Ross-shire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Ross and Cromarty (Mrs Christopher Bowen).
Her Royal Highness later visited Ross County Football Club and Highland Football Academy, Victoria Park, Dingwall, Ross-shire.
The Princess Royal, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, this afternoon opened Ross-shire Group at Delny Riding Centre, Delny, Rossshire.
Her Royal Highness, Honorary Foundation Member, the Honourable Company of Gloucestershire, accompanied by Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence, this evening attended the Autumn Dinner in Gloucester Cathedral and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester this evening attended the Annual Dinner to commemorate the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Artist Rifles, at the New Connaught Rooms, Great Queen Street, London WC2.

The Duke of Kent, President, this evening attended a Lecture entitled: “Rhythms of the Body” at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, 21 Albemarle Street, London W1.

Princess Alexandra, Patron, this morning visited Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service Memorial Stone at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire (Sir James Hawley).
Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened Coltman House, Defence Medical Services Whittington, Lichfield, Staffordshire.
Princess Alexandra later visited Combat Stress at Audley Court, Audley Avenue, Newport, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire (Mr. Algernon Heber-Percy).
