Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Royal Honorary Colonel, this afternoon attended the Freedom of Monmouth Parade and a Service of Thanksgiving before taking the salute at a parade of the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) at the Castle, Monmouth.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this evening attended the British Military Tournament at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, Warwick Road, London SW5.

The Queen has been pleased, on the recommendation of the Baroness Anelay of St Johns, to make the following promotion in and appointment to Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms.

Major Michael Webster to be Standard Bearer upon the retirement of Colonel Sir William Mahon, Bt.

Major Timothy Breitmeyer to be one of Her Majesty’s Body Guard upon the promotion of Major Michael Webster.
