COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

Brigadier Sir Miles Hunt-Davis was received by The Queen today upon relinquishing his appointment as Private Secretary and Treasurer to The Duke of Edinburgh when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.

The Duke of Edinburgh received Brigadier Sir Miles Hunt-Davis this morning upon relinquishing his appointment as Private Secretary and Treasurer to His Royal Highness.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators, afterwards received Dr Michael Fopp (Master) and Captain Ian Frow (Liveryman) who presented His Royal Highness with a copy of the second volume of his book on the Guild’s history.

The Duke of York, Grand Master, was present.

The Duke of Edinburgh this evening attended a Carol Service in aid of Veterans Aid in the Guards Chapel, Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk, London SW1.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Patron, this morning opened the newly renovated Jewish Museum at Raymond Burton House, 129-131 Albert Street, London NW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Trust, this afternoon held a Reception at Clarence House for Prison Governors and Officers.

The Prince of Wales, President, the Great Steward of Scotland’s Dumfries House Trust, afterwards held a Report Back Meeting at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness later received the Rt Hon Michael Gove MP (Secretary of State for Education).

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Chairman of the Trustees, Outward Bound Trust, this morning held a Trustees’ Meeting.

His Royal Highness, Past Captain, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, this afternoon held a Past Captains’ Meeting and Lunch at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, afterwards received Mr Robert Diamond (Deputy Group Chief Executive, Barclays Plc).

His Royal Highness, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace for representatives of the Healthcare Sector.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this morning opened Hornsea Inshore Rescue’s Boathouse and Sea-safe Education and Visitors’ Centre in Hornsea Burton Road, Hornsea, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire (the Hon Mrs Susan Cunliffe-Lister).

Her Royal Highness, Commandant-in-Chief (Youth), St John Ambulance, this afternoon opened the new County Headquarters at Priory House, Citadel Way, Hull.

The Princess Royal afterwards opened a Resource Centre at Hull and East Riding Institute for the Blind, Beech Holme Court, Beverley Road, Hull.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this morning invested Fra Matthew Festing (Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta) as Bailiff Grand Cross of the Most Venerable Order.

Professor Anthony Mellows (Lord Prior) was present.

His Royal Highness, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this afternoon attended a Lunch at the Athenaeum Club, 107 Pall Mall, London SW1.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester later received His Excellency the Ambassador of Japan and Mrs Ebihara.
