The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, was represented by Major General Stephen Andrews (Representative Colonel Commandant) at the Funeral of Major General Dennis Shaw (formerly Colonel Commandant, Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) which was held at Woodlands Crematorium, Brumby Wood Lane, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, this afternoon.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General, Royal Marines, was represented by Lieutenant General Sir Henry Beverley at the Funeral and Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Major General Robert Houghton which was held in All Saints Church, Church Lane, Laughton, East Sussex, this afternoon.
By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Homayoun Tandar at 31 Prince’s Gate, London SW7, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Court of St James’s.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall today visited Northern Ireland and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast (Dame Mary Peters).
The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment at Palace Barracks, Holywood, County Antrim.
The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited Saint Malachy’s Church, 24 Alfred Street, Belfast, County Antrim.
His Royal Highness later attended a Meeting with the Belfast Buildings Preservation Trust, Parochial House, Saint Malachy’s Church.
The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, the National Literacy Trust, this afternoon attended a storytelling session at Dundonald Library, 16 Church Road, Dundonald, Belfast, to mark National Storytelling Week, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Down (Mr David Lindsay).

The Princess Royal, Honorary Fellow, the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and Patron, Northern Lighthouse Board, this morning attended the Bell Rock Bicentenary Conference at the Royal Society of Edinburgh, 22-24 George Street, Edinburgh, and was received by Colonel Martin Gibson (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).
Her Royal Highness this afternoon launched the marineNewcastle Research Network at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Kings Road Centre, Kings Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear (Mr Nigel Sherlock).
