COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

Mr Simon McDonald was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon his appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany.

His Holiness Ilia II, Patriarch of All Georgia, was received by The Queen.

The Bishop of London was present.

The Queen held a Council at 5.30pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Michael Moore MP (Secretary of State for Scotland) and the Rt Hon Christopher Grayling MP (Minister of State, Department for Work and Pensions).

The Rt Hon Alistair Carmichael MP, the Rt Hon David Lidinton MP, the Rt Hon Andrew Robathan MP and the Rt Hon Hugo Swire MP were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Lord Bonomy and the Rt Hon Simon Hughes MP made affirmation as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

Miss Judith Simpson was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this morning departed St Pancras International Station, London, for Belgium.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership, later attended a Meeting of the P8 Group at the United Kingdom Permanent Representation to the European Union, Avenue d’Auderghem, Brussels.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon attended a Meeting with the Presidents of the European Parliament, the European Council and the European Commission at the European Parliament.

His Royal Highness afterwards gave a keynote speech at the Low Carbon Prosperity Summit at the European Parliament.

The Prince of Wales later attended a Roundtable Discussion with European Commissioners at the European Commission.

His Royal Highness this evening arrived at St Pancras International Station, London, from Belgium.

Mr Clive Alderton and Miss Eva Omaghomi were in attendance.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, President, Royal Aero Club of the United Kingdom, this afternoon presented The Queen’s Cup to representatives of the Club.

His Royal Highness, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, later received Mrs Susan Haird (Acting Chief Executive, United Kingdom Trade and Investment).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this morning opened the Centre for Textile Conservation and Technical Art History, Robertson Building, University of Glasgow, followed by a Reception at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Argyle Street, Glasgow, and was received by Professor Sir Kenneth Calman (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited Royal Strathclyde Blindcraft Industries, 12 Edgefauld Avenue, Glasgow, to mark its Twenty Fifth Anniversary.

The Princess Royal later visited Integrated Water Services Limited at Unit 3A, Monklands Industrial Estate, Kirkshaws Road, Coatbridge, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lanarkshire (Mr Mushtaq Ahmad).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Opportunity International United Kingdom, this evening held a Dinner at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this morning received Mr Peter Bretherton (President) and Mr Roger Draper (Chief Executive Officer).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Grand Master, United Grand Lodge of England, this evening attended the Board of Grand Stewards Dinner at White’s Club, St James’s Street, London SW1.
