COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

Her Excellency Mrs. Baktygul Kalambekova was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of her predecessor and her own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Kyrgyz Republic to the Court of St. James’s.

His Excellency Mr. Amar Abba was received in audience by Her Majesty and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from Algeria to the Court of St. James’s.

Dr. Zehra Abba was also received by The Queen.

Mr. James Bevan (Director General, Foreign and Commonwealth Office) was present.

Her Majesty received His Excellency Mr. Kamalesh Sharma, Commonwealth Secretary-General.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by The Prince of Wales at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Dame Joan Sutherland OM which was held in Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, President, the Great Steward of Scotland’s Dumfries House Trust, this afternoon held a Meeting at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness, Air Chief Marshal, this evening gave a Dinner at Clarence House for Royal Air Force Officers.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Commodore-in-Chief, Royal Naval Medical Service, this morning visited RFA ARGUS, Victory Jetty, Her Majesty’s Naval Base, Portsmouth, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Master, the Worshipful Company of Butchers, this afternoon presented the Awards at the Meat Training Council’s Annual Awards Ceremony at Butchers’ Hall, 87-88 Bartholomew Close, London EC1.

Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, University of London, afterwards opened the new University College London Graduate Wing and Lecture Theatre at Bentham House, Endsleigh Gardens, London WC1.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Royal National Children’s Foundation, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the merger of the Royal Wanstead Children’s Foundation and the Joint Educational Trust.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited Grundon Waste Management and the Lakeside Energy from Waste Facility at Colnbrook and was received by Mr. Andrew Panter (Deputy Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire).

The Duchess of Gloucester, Royal Patron, Counsel and Care for the Elderly, today received Mr. Sushil Radia (Chairman) and Mr. Peter Watt (Chief Executive).

Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, Prostate Action (formerly Prostate UK), this evening attended a Gala Preview Performance of “the Wizard of Oz” at the London Palladium, Argyll Street, London W1.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Patron, National Army Museum, this afternoon visited the Special Exhibition entitled, “the Road to Kabul: British Armies in Afghanistan 1838-1919”, at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3.

His Royal Highness, President, the Royal Institution of Great Britain, this evening attended a Lecture entitled, “the Book of Universes” by John Barrow, at 21 Albemarle Street, London W1.
