COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

Mr Adam Thomson was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as British High Commissioner to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Mrs Fariba Shirazi was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Richard Bonynge was received by The Queen and delivered up the Insignia of a Member of the Order of Merit worn by his wife, the late Dame Joan Sutherland.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr Paul Johnston (the Kingdom of Sweden), Dr Antony Stokes (the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) and Ms Judith Gough (Georgia).

Mrs Johnston, Ms Morang Lee and Ms Nerantzoula Kleiousi were also received by Her Majesty.

Mrs Marianne Young was received in audience by The Queen upon her appointment as British High Commissioner to the Republic of Namibia.

Mr Barry Young was also received by Her Majesty.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, this morning visited Arlington House, 220 Arlington Road, Camden, London NW1, to mark the Tenth Anniversary of Business Action on Homelessness, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership, this afternoon held a Meeting at Clarence House.

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, afterwards held a Reception at Clarence House to mark the Tenth Anniversary of Business Action on Homelessness.

His Royal Highness, President, this evening attended a Dinner at St James’s Palace for the British Asian Trust.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited BBC Birmingham to celebrate “the Archers’” Sixtieth Anniversary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Midlands (Mr Paul Sabapathy).

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this morning received the Rt Hon Mr William Hague MP (Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs).

His Royal Highness, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this afternoon received Mr Arun Sarin.

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, this evening attended a performance of Noises Off at the ADC Theatre, Park Street, Cambridge, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire (Mr Hugh Duberly).

The Princess Royal, President, Animal Health Trust, this morning chaired a Council of Management Meeting at Lanwades Park, Kentford, near Newmarket, and was received by Mr Stephen Fletcher (Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, UK Youth, this afternoon received Mr Nigel Mansell (President), Mr William Crothers (Chair of Trustees) and Mrs Charlotte Hill (Chief Executive) at Buckingham Palace.

The Princess Royal this evening attended the Annual Dinner of the Body of Yeoman Warders at HM Tower of London.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Royal President, the Children’s Society, this morning attended a consultation entitled, the Family Business, at St George’s House, Windsor Castle.

The Duke of Kent, Patron, London Philharmonic Orchestra, this evening attended a Concert at the Royal Festival Hall, Belvedere Road, London SE1.

Princess Alexandra, Patron, London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, this evening attended a Gala Performance of Cabaret at Wilton’s Music Hall, 1 Graces Alley, London E1.
