Buckingham Palace

The Queen visited King’s Court First School, Ashbrook Road, Old Windsor, this afternoon on the occasion of its Fiftieth Anniversary, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (the Hon Mrs Bayliss), the Chairman of Governors (Mr Neil Dodds), the Headteacher (Mrs Karen Littlewood) and the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (Councillor Catherine Bursnall).

Her Majesty visited the classrooms and met the children and members of staff.

By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Maurice Gourdault-Montagne at 58 Knightsbridge, London SW1, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from France to the Court of St James’s.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Red Squirrel Survival Trust, this morning launched Red Squirrels Northern England at Hutton-in-the-Forest, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria (Sir James Cropper).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the newly re-opened Low Lorton Bridge at Swinside End Farm, Scales, High Lorton, Cumbria, before visiting Cockermouth Town Centre.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, The Prince’s Countryside Fund, afterwards visited Mitchell’s Livestock Market, Lakeland Livestock Centre, Lakeland Agricultural Centre, Cockermouth.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning visited Belfast Activity Centre, Barnett’s Stable Yard, Barnett’s Demesne, Malone Road, Belfast, to celebrate their Twenty First Anniversary, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Down (Mr David Lindsay).

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this afternoon visited HM Young Offenders Centre, Hydebank Wood, Hospital Road, Belfast.

The Earl of Wessex afterwards visited the Spectrum Centre, Shankill Road, Belfast, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast (Dame Mary Peters).

His Royal Highness, Royal Colonel, 2nd Battalion The Rifles, later visited the Regiment at Ballykinler Army Barracks, Ballykinler, County Down, and this evening attended the Regimental Dinner in the Officers Mess.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, the Royal School for Deaf Children, Margate, this morning held a Meeting.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Moor House School, this afternoon held a Meeting.

The Princess Royal this morning visited Surgical Innovations Limited, Clayton Wood House, 6 Clayton Wood Bank, Leeds, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Dr Ingrid Roscoe).

Her Royal Highness, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, this afternoon visited Middleton Park Equestrian Centre, Middleton Grove, Leeds, on the occasion of their Twenty Fifth Anniversary.

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Butler Trust, later visited HM Prison Everthorpe, Beck Road, Everthorpe, near Brough, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire (the Hon Mrs Susan Cunliffe-Lister).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Patron, St Mungo’s Community Housing Association Limited, this morning visited a hostel at 12-14 Endsleigh Gardens, London WC1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra this afternoon visited the Mall Galleries, London SW1, to celebrate the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Federation of British Artists.
