Buckingham Palace
The Queen, Affiliated Colonel-in-Chief, The Queen’s Gurkha Engineers, this morning visited 36 Engineer Regiment at Invicta Park Barracks, Maidstone, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (Mr Allan Willett), the Commanding Officer (Lieutenant Colonel Simon Hulme) and the Mayor of Maidstone (Councillor Eric Hotson).
Her Majesty was received on Parade Square with a Royal Salute and inspected the Parade.
The Queen afterwards commissioned three Queen’s Gurkha Late Entry Officers.
Her Majesty then viewed the Attestation Parade, which subsequently marched off.
The Queen viewed a static display highlighting the Regiment’s past and future roles and met Officers and soldiers who have recently deployed or are about to deploy on operations and British and Gurkha soldiers and their families.
Her Majesty was entertained to Luncheon in the Officers Mess this afternoon by the Commanding Officer.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning received Mr Terrence Regan upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman of the Trustees, International Golf for Youth, and Mr Peter Venison upon assuming the appointment.
His Royal Highness, Patron, today attended Receptions at St James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

Prince William of Wales this afternoon named the lifeboat Hereford Endeavour at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution Station, Treaddur Bay, Anglesey, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gwynedd (His Honour Huw Morgan Daniel).

The Duke of York this afternoon visited the National Army Museum, Royal Hospital Road, London SW3.
His Royal Highness, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, afterwards received Professor the Lord Stern of Brentford (Chair, Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy).

The Princess Royal, President, this morning visited a Save the Children UK shop at 130 Montague Street, Worthing, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex (Mrs Susan Pyper).
Her Royal Highness, President, afterwards visited a Save the Children UK shop at 29 Surrey Street, Littlehampton, and was received by Mrs Lilian Holdsworth (Deputy Lieutenant of West Sussex).
The Princess Royal, Patron, this afternoon launched the Jubilee Woods Project at Home Farm, Burkham, Alton, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).
Her Royal Highness, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, later attended a Driving Dressage at Ravenswood Stables, Ravenswood Village, Nine Mile Ride, Crowthorne, and was received by Mr James Puxley (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire).
