The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this afternoon attended the Commonwealth Day Observance Service in Westminster Abbey and was received by the Dean of Westminster (the Very Reverend Dr John Hall) and the Chairman of the Council of Commonwealth Societies (the Lord Watson of Richmond).

Her Majesty was present this evening at a Reception given by the Commonwealth Secretary-General (His Excellency Mr Kamalesh Sharma) at Marlborough House.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, British Tourism Week 2011, this morning visited Anglesey Abbey, Lode, Cambridge, and subsequently attended the VisitEngland 2011 Tourism Summit at Anglesey Abbey and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire (Mr Hugh Duberly).

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust, and Patron, the Cambridge Overseas Trust, this afternoon attended a Reception at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Trumpington Street, Cambridge.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, Teach First, later attended the Teach First Higher Education Summit at Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge.

The Princess Royal, Past Master, the Honourable Company of Master Mariners, this afternoon attended the Annual Luncheon onboard HQS Wellington, Victoria Embankment, London WC2.

Her Royal Highness, President, Scotch Beef Club, later attended a Reception at Butchers’ Hall, 87-88 Bartholomew Close, London EC1.

The Princess Royal this evening attended a Ladies in Beef Reception at Butchers’ Hall.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, this morning received Lieutenant Colonel James Landon upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer of 1st Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Swift upon assuming the appointment; and Lieutenant Colonel Charles Calder upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer of 2nd Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Michael Butterwick upon assuming the appointment.
