Buckingham Palace

The Queen held an Investiture at Windsor Castle this morning.

Her Majesty this afternoon visited St. George’s School, Windsor Castle, and was received by the Dean of Windsor (the Right Reverend David Conner) and the Headmaster (Mr Roger Jones).

The Queen toured the School, escorted by the Headmaster, and met pupils and staff before listening to a short joint recital by St George’s Chapel Choir and St George’s School Choir.

The Duke of York, Patron, Army Museums Ogilby Trust, this morning received Brigadier Colin Sibun (Director).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Badminton England, received Mr Adrian Christy (Chief Executive).

The Duke of York, Chairman of the Trustees, Outward Bound Trust, held a Chairman’s Meeting and gave a Lunch for the Patron’s Company.

His Royal Highness, Patron, this afternoon visited the International Space Innovation Centre, Harwell, Didcot, and was received by Mr John Harwood (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire).

The Earl of Wessex this morning opened the new Sixth Form Building at Derby High School, Hillsway, Littleover, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire (Mr William Tucker).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Heage Windmill, Chesterfield Road, Heage, Derbyshire.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this afternoon visited Lea Green Development Centre, Main Road, Lea, Derbyshire.

His Royal Highness later opened St Oswald’s National Health Service Hospital, Clifton Road, Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

The Earl of Wessex afterwards visited Ashbourne Animal Welfare Centre, Wyaston Road, Ashbourne.

The Countess of Wessex, Colonel-in-Chief, Corps of Army Music, this morning received Major General David Rutherford-Jones (Colonel Commandant).

Her Royal Highness, Global Ambassador, International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, today attended the Twenty Fifth Anniversary Luncheon for the Association of British Dispensing Opticians at Plaisterers’ Hall, 1 London Wall, London EC2.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Special Forces Club, this afternoon attended the Ceremony to commemorate the Twentieth Anniversary of the Inauguration of the Memorial to 104 agents of Special Operations Executive F Section, combined with the Seventieth Anniversary of Special Operations Executive agent Georges Begué’s first parachute drop, at Valençay, France, and afterwards attended a Reception given by Libre Résistance and the Mayor of Valençay, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the French Republic (His Excellency Sir Peter Westmacott).

The Hon Mrs Louloudis was in attendance.
