Buckingham Palace
Mr Nicolas Adamson was received by The Queen this afternoon upon relinquishing his appointment as Private Secretary to The Duke of Kent.
Her Majesty received the Bishop of Bradford (the Right Reverend Nicholas Baines) who did homage upon his appointment.
The Rt Hon Kenneth Clarke MP (Lord Chancellor) administered the Oath.
The Bishop of Guildford (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance.
Ms Julie Chappell was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon her appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Guatemala.
The following were received in audience by The Queen upon their appointment as British High Commissioners: Mr Fergus Cochrane-Dyet (Republic of Malawi), Mr Andrew Pocock (Canada) and Ms Jacqueline Barson (Papua New Guinea).
Mrs Cochrane-Dyet and Mrs Pocock were also received by Her Majesty.
The Queen held a Council at 5.30 pm.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, this morning received Lieutenant General Andrew Figgures upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel Commandant and Major General Ken Ferguson upon assuming this appointment.
His Royal Highness, President, City and Guilds of London Institute, afterwards presented The Prince Philip Medal at Buckingham Palace and subsequently attended a Luncheon at the Ritz London, 150 Piccadilly, London W1.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Permanent Master, the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights, this evening installed The Prince of Wales as Prime Warden at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, London SE10, and subsequently attended a Dinner.

His Royal Highness, Patron, this afternoon held a Reception for Penny Brohn Cancer Care.
The Prince of Wales this evening was installed as Prime Warden of the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, London SE10, and subsequently attended a Dinner.
The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Hastings and St Leonards Veterans Association, this morning attended a Service and laid a wreath to commemorate the contribution of Commonweatlh servicemen at Hastings Cemetery and Crematorium, the Ridge, Hastings, followed by a Reception at the Royal Victoria Hotel, St Leonards-on-Sea, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex (Mr Peter Field).
Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Plumpton College Charitable Foundation, this afternoon visited Plumpton College, Ditchling Road, Plumpton, and was received by Mr David Allam (Deputy Lieutenant of East Sussex).
The Duchess of Cornwall later visited Charleston House, Firle, Lewes, to mark the Twenty Fifth Anniversary of the opening of the House to the public and was received by Mr Charles Anson (Deputy Lieutenant of East Sussex).
