The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Irish National Stud, Tully, Kildare, and were received by the Chairman of the Board (Lady O’Reilly) and Mr. John Osbourne (Chief Executive).

Her Majesty, escorted by the Chairman of the Board, and His Royal Highness, escorted by the Chief Executive, toured the Stud and met students, jockeys and trainers.

The Queen unveiled a statue to mark the visit.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening attended a Reception given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Ireland (His Excellency Mr. Julian King) at the Convention Centre Dublin, Spencer Dock, Dublin, and were received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador and Mr. Dermod Dwyer (Chairman, the Convention Centre Dublin).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness viewed a British Irish fashion display.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards viewed a variety performance.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Founder and Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Association, this afternoon received young people who have achieved the Gold, Silver and Bronze Standards in Gaisce — the President’s Award, at Farmleigh.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning called upon the Chongqing Party Secretary at the office of the Party Secretary in Chongqing, China.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Meeting with representatives of British businesses at Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu, and remained to Luncheon.

The Duke of York later attended a Meeting with Chinese inward investors at Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a meeting and subsequent Dinner with the Mayor of Chengdu at Intercontinental Hotel, Chengdu.

The Duke of York later departed from China for the United Kingdom.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex this morning received Major General Greg Smith (Assistant Chief of Defence Staff, Reserves and Cadets).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Northern Ballet, today held a Lunch at Buckingham Palace.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this afternoon held a Meeting.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Northern Ballet, accompanied by The Countess of Wessex, this evening attended a performance of “Cleopatra” at Sadler’s Wells, Rosebery Avenue, London EC1.

The Countess of Wessex today visited United Multicultural Centre, 59-63 Carlisle Street, Rotherham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire (Mr. David Moody).

Her Royal Highness later opened the new Matrix Business Centre, Nobel Way, Dinnington, Sheffield.

The Countess of Wessex this afternoon opened Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Cramfit Road, North Anston, Sheffield.

Her Royal Highness later visited Sandvik Medical Solutions, Old Colliery Way, Beighton Links Business Park, Rotherham.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Deputy Colonel-in-Chief, Adjutant General’s Corps, this afternoon attended the Triple Crown Military Skills Challenge Competition at Worthy Down, Winchester, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Enham, afterwards visited Enham Place, Enham Alamein, Andover, Hampshire.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Royal Army Educational Corps and Educational Training Services Association, later met members of the Association at Worthy Down, Winchester.

Her Royal Highness, Deputy Colonel-in-Chief, Adjutant General’s Corps, afterwards presented the prizes at the Military Skills Triple Crown Challenge Competition at Worthy Down.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, this afternoon attended the Annual Presentation Awards at the Barbican Centre, Silk Street, London EC2.
