COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr Bernard Emié was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from France to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Emié was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr Kyaw Myo Htut was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from Burma to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Khin Myint Kyi was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Matthew Rycroft (Chief Operating Officer, Foreign and Commonwealth Office) was present.

Dame Emma Kirkby was received by The Queen when Her Majesty presented her with The Queen’s Medal for Music.

Sir Peter Maxwell Davies (Master of The Queen’s Music) was present.

Group Captain Timothy Hewlett was received by The Queen upon relinquishing his appointment as Director of Royal Travel.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Friends of Plymouth City Museums and Art Gallery, this evening attended the Sixtieth Anniversary Dinner at the Commando Forces Officers’ Mess, Stonehouse Barracks, Durnford Street, Plymouth, Devon.

By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Ron Prosor at 2 Palace Green, London W8, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from Israel to the Court of St James’s.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, President, Scottish Business in the Community, this morning held a 2020 Climate Group Seminar at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The Prince Charles, Lord of the Isles and The Duchess of Rothesay this afternoon visited the Weaving Shed, Stockinish, Isle of Harris, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Western Isles (Mr Alexander Matheson).

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited the Isle of Harris Knitwear Company, Grosebay.

The Prince Charles, Lord of the Isles and The Duchess of Rothesay subsequently visited Leac a’ Li Community Centre.

His Royal Highness later held a Meeting at the Harris Hotel, Tarbert, to discuss the economy of the Western Isles.

The Duchess of Rothesay, Patron, the National Literacy Trust, this morning received Miss Joanne Rowling (Authoress) at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service in Tarbert.

The Duke of York, Patron, accompanied by Princess Eugenie of York, this morning visited the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Brockley Hill, Stanmore, Middlesex.

The Earl of Wessex today visited South Yorkshire and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant (Mr David Moody).

His Royal Highness this morning visited Jeld-Wen UK Limited, Retford Road, Woodhouse Mill, Sheffield.

The Earl of Wessex today opened the new Headquarters of the Church Army at Wilson Carlisle Centre, 50 Cavendish Street, Sheffield.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, this afternoon visited The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at the Town Hall, Pinstone Street, Sheffield.

The Earl of Wessex afterwards visited Platts and Nisbett, Woodfold Works, Woodfold, Sheffield.

The Countess of Wessex, President, the Royal Bath and West of England Society, today attended the Royal Bath and West Show, Somerset.

The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, Royal Corps of Signals, this morning attended 16 Air Assault Brigade Headquarters and Signal Squadron (216) Medal Parade at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this morning invested Lieutenant General Sir Jeremiah Mateparae (Governor-General designate of New Zealand) as a Knight of Justice of the Most Venerable Order, and invested Lady Mateparae as a Commander of the Order.

Professor Anthony Mellows (Lord Prior) was present.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Pestalozzi International Village Trust, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at the Athenæum, 107 Pall Mall, London SW1.

The Countess of Wessex has been pleased to appoint Mrs Amy Mayes to be a Lady in Waiting to Her Royal Highness with effect from 1st June, 2011.
