The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning drove to the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh, and were received at Queensberry House by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Mr. George Grubb, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost), Ms. Tricia Marwick MSP (Presiding Officer of the Parliament) and the Rt. Hon. Alex Salmond MSP (First Minister of the Scottish Executive).

The Presiding Officer welcomed The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh and Her Majesty was graciously pleased to address the Scottish Parliament.

The Rt. Hon. Sir Christopher Geidt (Private Secretary to The Queen) was in attendance.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening attended a Dinner for The Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers at Archers Hall, Edinburgh.

The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon visited the Summer Exhibition, “Methil and the Merchant Marine” at Methil Heritage Centre, 272 High Street, Methil, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Fife (Mrs. Brian Dean).

By command of The Queen, Mr. Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa at 30 Belgrave Square, London SW1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from Bahrain to the Court of St. James’s.

By command of Her Majesty, the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps called upon His Excellency Mr. Hubert Wurth at 25 Wilton Crescent, London SW1, in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from Luxembourg to the Court of St. James’s.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, this morning visited Fferm Garreg, Mynddygarreg Cydwell, Dyfed, Carmarthenshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dyfed (the Hon. Robin Lewis).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Cwmcerrig Farm Shop, Cwmcerrig Farm, Gorslas, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.

The Prince of Wales afterwards visited Frank’s Ice Cream, Capel Hendre Industrial Estate, Ammanford, Carmarthenshire.

His Royal Highness later received the New Zealand Minister of Agriculture (Hon. David Carter MP).

The Prince of Wales this evening held a Reception for the Cardiff Business Club.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited the Headquarters of Hereford Garrison.

St James’s Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this morning attended a Citizenship Ceremony at the Canadian Museum of Civilisation, Gatineau, Quebec, Canada.

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon attended a Canada Day celebration at Parliament Hill, Ottawa.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this evening attended a Show to mark Canada Day at Parliament Hill.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning attended an Oxford University Sports Symposium at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, 66 Knightsbridge, London SW1.

The Duke of York, accompanied by Princess Beatrice of York, this afternoon attended the Men’s Singles Semi-Finals of the Lawn Tennis Championship Meeting at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Wimbledon, London SW19.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this afternoon departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for France and later arrived at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport.

Their Royal Highnesses, representing The Queen, this evening attended a Reception given by the Minister for Foreign Affairs at the Hotel Hermitage, Monaco, on the occasion of the Wedding of The Prince of Monaco and Miss Charlene Lynette Whittstock.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Logistic Corps, this afternoon visited 9 Regiment and presented Operation Herrick Medals at Buckley Barracks, Stanton St. Quintin, Chippenham, Wiltshire.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Somme Association, this morning attended a Service to commemorate the Ninety Fifth Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme at the Thiepval Memorial, France, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the French Republic (His Excellency Sir Peter Westmacott).

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Service of Commemoration for 36th (Ulster) Division at the Ulster Memorial Tower, Thiepval.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards attended a Service of Remembrance at the 16th (Irish) Division Memorial, Guillemont.

Captain Benjamin Sempala-Ntege was in attendance.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this afternoon attended the Wimbledon Championship Meeting at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Church Road, London SW19.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President, The Duke of York’s Royal Military School, this morning presented prizes and took the salute at the parade on Grand Day, Dover, Kent.
