Buckingham Palace

Ms. Aminatta Forna (winner of the 2011 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize) was received by The Queen this afternoon.

Dr. Dhananjayan Sriskandarajah (Interim Director of the Commonwealth Foundation) was present.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia was received by The Queen.

The Hon. Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor was also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening gave a Reception for the winners of The Queen’s Award for Enterprise at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Gloucester and The Duke of Kent were present.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning chaired the judging of The Prince Philip Designers Prize at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Patron, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, this afternoon held a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, this afternoon attended the Annual General Meeting at the Royal Institute of Navigation, 1 Kensington Gore, London SW7.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by the Duke of Devonshire (formerly Her Majesty’s Representative at Ascot) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Captain the Hon. Sir Nicholas Beaumont (formerly Clerk of the Course at Ascot) which was held in the Priory and Parish Church of St. Andrew, Hexham, this afternoon.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Mr. Johnny Weatherby.

The Princess Royal was represented by the Hon. Mrs. Legge-Bourke.

The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by the Hon. Mary Morrison.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy was represented by the Lady Mary Mumford.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Air Commodore-in-Chief, Royal New Zealand Air Force, this morning received Air Vice-Marshal Peter Stockwell (Chief of Air Force).

His Royal Highness this afternoon held a Science and Sustainable Agriculture Meeting.

The Prince of Wales later received the Rt. Hon. Caroline Spelman MP (Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).

His Royal Highness, Patron, this evening held a Reception for Garden Organic — Henry Doubleday Research Association.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, Royal Alfred Seafarers’ Society, this afternoon opened the Annexe to Belvedere House, Weston Acres, Woodmansterne Lane, Banstead, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey (Mrs. Timothy Goad).

Her Royal Highness, President, Racing Welfare, later attended an Awards Ceremony and Dinner at Epsom Downs Racecourse, Epsom Downs, and was received by Mr. Andrew Wates (Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey).

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, Patron, People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals, this afternoon opened the new PetAid Hospital at the Reay Hudson Centre, Hepworth Road, Sunderland, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear (Mr. Nigel Sherlock).

Her Royal Highness later presented The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service to the Chinese Healthy Living Centre, 25 Stowell Street, Newcastle upon Tyne.
