The Duke of Edinburgh, Member, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, this morning named the Atlantic 85 Class Lifeboat Jimmie Cairncross at Dundas Castle, South Queensferry, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor George Grubb, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).
His Royal Highness, Patron, Outward Bound Trust, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at the Balmoral Hotel, 1 Princes Street, Edinburgh.

The Princess Royal, Master, the Corporation of Trinity House, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this morning named Trinity Pier in Cowes and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight (Major General Martin White).
Her Royal Highness, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, afterwards started the X One Design Centenary Boat Race at the Royal Yacht Squadron Line, Cowes.
The Princess Royal, Director, London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, this evening attended a Chefs de Mission Dinner at Guildhall, London EC2.
