Balmoral Castle

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Warsash Maritime Academy’s new fleet facilities, Timsbury Lake, Romsey, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

His Royal Highness afterwards officially opened the new Head Office of Ordnance Survey, Explorer House, Adanac Drive, Southampton.

The Princess Royal, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Windsor Castle this morning.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Royal Colonel, The Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, this afternoon received Lieutenant Colonel Dugald Graham upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Robin Lindsay upon assuming the appointment.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, accompanied by The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Mencap, this afternoon visited Chaucer Technology School, Spring Lane, Canterbury, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (the Viscount De L’Isle).

His Royal Highness, Patron, New Marlowe Theatre Campaign, accompanied by Her Royal Highness, later opened the Marlowe Theatre, the Friars, Canterbury.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, Shipwrecked Fishermen and Mariners’ Royal Benevolent Society, this afternoon attended the Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

Her Royal Highness, President, Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851, this evening attended a Dinner at Imperial College London, 170 Queen’s Gate, London SW7.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning opened the Train Shed Roof Replacement as part of the “Train of Thought” Project at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Pickering Station, Pickering, and was received by Commodore Paul Sutermeister (Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire).

His Royal Highness this afternoon opened the new Harrogate Library, Victoria Avenue, Harrogate, and was received by Air Commodore Simon Bostock (Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire).

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards opened the new Selby War Memorial Hospital and Civic Centre, Doncaster Road, Selby, and was received by Brigadier Nigel Wood (Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Patron, St. Mungo’s Community Housing Association Limited, this evening held the Patron’s Dinner at St. James’s Palace.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, Patron, Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, this afternoon opened the new Guide Dogs National Breeding Centre, Banbury Road, Bishops Tachbrook, Leamington Spa, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire (Mr. Martin Dunne).
