The Prince of Wales, Royal Honorary Colonel, The Queen’s Own Yeomanry, this morning took the salute at the Freedom of the City of Newcastle Parade in celebration of the Regiment’s Fortieth Anniversary, was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear (Mr Nigel Sherlock) and afterwards attended a Service of Thanksgiving at the Church of St Thomas the Martyr, Haymarket, Newcastle upon Tyne.

His Royal Highness, Royal Honorary Colonel, The Queen’s Own Yeomanry, this afternoon attended a Reception at Fenham Barracks, Newcastle upon Tyne, and subsequently received Lieutenant Colonel Simon Graham upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Hugh Campbell-Smith upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke of Kent, Patron, this evening attended the Annual Dinner of the Scots Guards Association, Dundee and Angus Branch at Invercarse Hotel, 371 Perth Road, Dundee.

Princess Alexandra this evening attended a Concert given by the Kinder Children’s Choir of the High Peak at Chatsworth, Bakewell, Derbyshire.
