COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen received His Excellency Mr. Kamalesh Sharma, Commonwealth Secretary-General, today.

Mr. Jonathan Spencer was received by Her Majesty when The Queen invested him with the Insignia of a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr. Robin Barnett (the Republic of Poland), Mrs. Jill Gallard (the Portuguese Republic), Mr. Jonathan Wilks (the Republic of Yemen) and Mr. Andrew Wightman (the Republic of Korea).

Mrs. Wightman was also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace this evening in advance of the Royal Visit to the Commonwealth of Australia.

The Earl of Wessex, and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Senior Fellow, the Royal Academy of Engineering, this morning received the Lord Browne of Madingley upon relinquishing his appointment as President and Sir John Parker upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Federation of London Youth Clubs, this afternoon held a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron and Twelfth Man, the Lord’s Taverners, afterwards presented the County Championship Cup at Buckingham Palace.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Cambridge, Patron, and The Duchess of Cambridge this evening attended a Dinner for “100 Women in Hedge Funds” Philanthropic Initiatives at St. James’s Palace.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning received Sir Paul Nurse (President, the Royal Society) and Dr. Julie Maxton (Executive Director).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel Trust, received Rear Admiral Jeremy Sanders (Chairman).

The Duke of York received Mr. Andrew Street (Managing Director, John Lewis Partnership).

His Royal Highness this afternoon held a Lunch at Buckingham Palace for the Bar Council.

The Duke of York later received Mr. Paul Lucraft (Chairman, the National Consortium of University Entrepreneurs), Ms. Hushpreet Dhaliwal (Chief Executive) and Mr. Kostas Mavroulakis (East England Director).

His Royal Highness, Admiral, Marine Society and Sea Cadets, afterwards visited TS TRAFALGAR, Merton, 42 Commonside West, Mitcham, Surrey.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning visited new participants of the Award at Aberaeron School, Aberaeron, Ceredigion, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dyfed (the Hon. Robin Lewis).

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, today visited Aberaeron Youth Centre and Digi Lab, Portland Place, Aberaeron.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this afternoon visited Aberystwyth University, Penglais Campus, Aberystwyth, Cardiganshire.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Llandysul Community Primary School, Heol Llynyfran, Llandysul, Ceredigion, and was received by Miss Sara Edwards (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Dyfed).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, the British Nutrition Foundation, this morning attended a Physical Activity Conference at 76-78 Portland Place, London W1.

Her Royal Highness, Honorary Member, the Farmers Club, this afternoon attended the Guild of Agricultural Journalists of Great Britain Harvest Reception at Stationers’ Hall, Ave Maria Lane, London EC4, and presented the Netherthorpe Communication Award.

The Princess Royal later received Mr. Matthew Kithyaka (Director, Starehe Boys’ Centre), Mr. Paul Whitehouse (Chairman of the StareheFuture Appeal) and Mrs. Helen Varma (Appeal Director) at Buckingham Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Cranfield Trust, this evening attended a Reception at Doughty Hanson and Company, 45 Pall Mall, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Princess Royal, Patron, British Quality Foundation, afterwards presented the United Kingdom Excellence Awards and attended a Dinner at the InterContinental Hotel, 1 Hamilton Place, London W1.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers, this evening attended a Reception at Vintners’ Hall, 68 Upper Thames Street, London EC4.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Asthma UK, this morning visited the Gift Fair at the Hurlingham Club, Ranelagh Gardens, London SW6.

Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception for the Henry Spink Foundation (assisting families with children diagnosed with severe disabilities) in The Queen’s Chapel, St. James’s Palace.
