The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening arrived at the Defence Establishment, Fairbairn, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, and were received by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia (Ms Quentin Bryce), the Hon Julia Gillard MP (Prime Minister) and Ms Katy Gallagher MLA (Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, having been received with a Gun Salute, attended a Ceremonial Welcome and The Queen inspected a Guard of Honour.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh subsequently drove to Government House.

The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon took the oath to become an Honorary Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Joiners and Ceilers of the City of London during a Luncheon at Apothercaries’ Hall, Black Friars Lane, London EC4.

Her Royal Highness, President, the Brooke Hospital for Animals, this evening visited the Exhibition entitled War Horse: Fact and Fiction at National Army Museum, Royal Hospital Road, London SW3, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, later held a Reception at Clarence House for the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust.

The Duke of York, Chairman of the Trustees, Outward Bound Trust, today held a Chairman’s Meeting and gave a Luncheon for the Patron’s Company.

His Royal Highness this afternoon received Mr Tyler Brûlé (Editor-in-Chief, Monocle).

Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, United Kingdom Resource Centre — Women into Science, Engineering and Construction, this afternoon attended the Women into Science, Engineering and Construction Awards 2011 Ceremony at the Institution of Engineering and Technology, 2 Savoy Place, London WC2.

The Princess Royal, Honorary Air Commodore, Royal Air Force Brize Norton, later received Group Captain Dom Stamp, Royal Air Force (Station Commander Royal Air Force Brize Norton).

The Princess Royal, Patron, United Kingdom Antarctic Heritage Trust, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening opened the Exhibition The Heart of the Great Alone: Scott, Shackleton and Antarctic Photography at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Grand Master, the Order of St Michael and St George, this afternoon attended Evensong in St Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4, followed by a Reception.

Princess Alexandra, Patron, Mental Health Foundation, this afternoon received Dr Michael Shooter at Buckingham Palace upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman and Professor Dinesh Bhugra upon assuming the appointment.
