The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Australian War Memorial, Treloar Crescent, Campbell, Australian Capital Territory, and were received by Senator the Hon. David Feeney (Parliamentary Secretary for Defence) and the Chairman of Australian War Memorial (General Peter Cosgrove).
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh walked to the Hall of Memory and Her Majesty laid a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh proceeded to Commemorative Courtyard and subsequently to Orientation Gallery and met current and former members of the Australian Defence Forces.
By command of The Queen, Mr. Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Yuri Thamrin at 38 Grosvenor Square, London W1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from Indonesia to the Court of St. James’s.
