Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning attended a Service of Celebration in Westminster Abbey to mark the Four Hundredth Anniversary of the King James Bible and were received at the Great West Door by the Dean (the Very Reverend Dr. John Hall) and Chapter, the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Chairman of the King James Bible Trust (the Rt. Hon. Frank Field MP).

Her Majesty held a Council at 5.30 p.m.

There were present: the Rt. Hon. Nicholas Clegg MP (Lord President), the Rt. Hon. Alan Duncan MP (Minister of State, Department for International Development), the Rt. Hon. Michael Moore MP (Secretary of State, Scotland Office) and the Rt. Hon. Caroline Spelman MP (Secretary of State, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).

The Rt. Hon. Sir Andrew McFarlane, the Rt. Hon. Dame Anne Rafferty, Sir Desmond de Silva, Sir David Kitchin and Sir Kim Lewison were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

Miss Judith Simpson was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt. Hon. Nicholas Clegg MP had an audience of The Queen before the Council.

The Rt. Hon. David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of Her Majesty this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Gold Card Life Member, the Variety Club of Great Britain, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at Claridge’s Hotel, Brook Street, London W1.

His Royal Highness, Chairman of the Trustees, The Prince Philip Trust Fund for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, this evening presented prizes at the Guildhall, Windsor, followed by Dinner at the Windsor Castle Hotel, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (the Hon. Mrs. Bayliss).

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this morning received Mr. Geoffrey Whiten (Chairman, the Garden Media Guild) and Mr. Gary Rogers (Chairman, Professional Garden Photographers’ Association) who presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to His Royal Highness.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the King James Bible Trust, today attended a Service of Celebration in Westminster Abbey to mark the Four Hundredth Anniversary of the King James Bible and afterwards attended a Reception in the Abbey.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Unicorn Theatre for Children, this afternoon held a Reception at Clarence House to launch the Joanna David Award.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, today carried out the following engagements in Malta.

His Royal Highness this morning attended a Meeting at the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Exchange Buildings, Republic Street, Valletta.

The Earl of Wessex afterwards inaugurated an exhibition at Scout Headquarters, Congreve-Bernard Memorial Hall, Floriana, to celebrate the Fiftieth Anniversary of the President’s Award in Malta.

His Royal Highness later attended a Reception at KDM Group, Taz-Zwejt Street, San Gwann.

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon called upon The President of the Republic of Malta at San Anton Presidential Palace, Attard.

His Royal Highness afterwards called upon the Hon. Lawrence Gonzi MP (Prime Minister of the Republic of Malta) at Auberge de Castille, Valletta.

The Earl of Wessex this evening attended a Reception at the Palace Valletta for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

His Royal Highness subsequently attended a Dinner for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, this afternoon held a Reception to launch the Fiftieth Anniversary celebrations of the National Autistic Society.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, this evening held a Reception to celebrate Childline’s Twenty Fifth Anniversary.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Jubilee Woods Project, this morning planted a commemorative tree for the community in the garden of St. Peter’s Church, St. Fagans Road, Fairwater, Cardiff, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Dr. Peter Beck).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, UK Youth (Youth Clubs UK), this afternoon attended the Centenary Service in Llandaff Cathedral, South Glamorgan.

The Princess Royal this evening attended the Women of the Future Awards Ceremony and Dinner at the Marriott Hotel, 84-86 Duke Street, London W1.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Canine Partners for Independence, this evening attended a Reception at Withers, 16 Old Bailey, London EC4.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Chief Patron, Hope for Youth Northern Ireland, this evening attended the Charity Swim between the House of Lords and the House of Commons at the Porchester Hall, Queensway, London W2.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Patron, this evening attended a Reception at the National Army Museum, Royal Hospital Road, London SW3.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Restore Burn and Wound Research, was represented by Mr. Nicolas Adamson (Extra Equerry to The Duke of Kent) at the Memorial Service for Sir Desmond Fennell (President) which was held in the Temple Church, London EC4, this afternoon.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, President, Royal Humane Society, this afternoon attended the Stanhope Gold Medal Luncheon at Apothecaries’ Hall, Black Friars Lane, London EC4.

Her Royal Highness, President, Fitzwilliam Museum Development Trust, this evening gave a Reception at St. James’s Palace.
