The Queen was represented by the Hon. Mrs. Whitehead (Lady in Waiting) at the Memorial Evensong for Miss Muriel Murray Brown (formerly Personal Secretary to The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon) which was held in St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, this afternoon.

The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended the Royal Variety Performance in aid of the Entertainment Artistes’ Benevolent Fund at the Lowry, Salford Quays, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester (Mr. Warren Smith).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Royal Colonel, 6th Battalion The Rifles, this afternoon received Lieutenant Colonel Timothy House upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Neville Holmes upon assuming the appointment.
