COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The following were received in audience by The Queen today upon their appointment as Lieutenant Governors: General Sir John McColl (Jersey), Air Marshal Peter Walker (Guernsey) and Mr Adam Wood (Isle of Man).

Lady McColl, Mrs Walker and Mrs Wood were also received by Her Majesty.

Mr David Dawson was received by The Queen and delivered up the Insignia of the Order of Merit worn by the late Mr Lucien Freud.

The Lord Fellowes (Secretary and Registrar of the Order of Merit) was in attendance.

The Queen was represented by Major Sir Fergus Matheson of Matheson, Bt,(formerly Standard Bearer, Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms) at the Funeral of Major the Lord Suffield (formerly Harbinger, Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms) which was held in St James Church, Southrepps, near Cromer, Norfolk, this morning.

By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon Prince Seeiso Bereng Seeiso at 7 Chesham Place, London SW1, in order to bid farewell to His Royal Highness upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for the Kingdom of Lesotho in London.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, this morning held a Start Partners Meeting at Clarence House.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning visited SAIC Motor UK, Technical Centre Limited, Lowhill Lane, Birmingham, and was received by Colonel Anthony Griffiths (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).

His Royal Highness later visited Manufacturing Technology Centre, Pilot Way, Ansty Business Park, Coventry, and was received by Mr Hamish Gray-Cheape (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire).

The Duke of York this afternoon visited Penso Consulting Limited, Woodhams Road, Coventry.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Anglian Regiment, this morning received General Sir John McColl (Colonel).
