The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this evening attended the Sun Military Awards Ceremony at the Imperial War Museum, Lambeth Road, London SE1, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this morning arrived at Bastion Military Base, Helmand Province, and were received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (His Excellency Sir William Patey).

Their Royal Highnesses later received a Briefing from the National Contingent Commander (Lieutenant General Adrian Bradshaw).

The Earl of Wessex, Royal Colonel, 2nd Battalion The Rifles, and The Countess of Wessex, Royal Colonel, 5th Battalion The Rifles, afterwards visited troops in Nahr-e-Saraj.

Their Royal Highnesses later called upon the Commander 215 Brigade, Afghan Army.

The Earl of Wessex, Honorary Air Commodore, Royal Air Force Waddington, and The Countess of Wessex, Honorary Air Commodore, Royal Air Force Wittering, afterwards visited personnel deployed on Operation HERRICK.

His Royal Highness, Royal Colonel, 2nd Battalion The Rifles, and Her Royal Highness, Royal Colonel, 5th Battalion The Rifles, this evening attended a Dinner with all Ranks of 2nd and 5th Battalions at Bastion Military Base.
