The Prince of Wales this morning re-named the Britannia steam locomotive at Wakefield Kirkgate Railway Station, Monk Street, Wakefield, and was received by Mr John Brennan (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire).

His Royal Highness later visited the Barnsley Chronicle, Church Street, Barnsley, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire (Mr David Moody).

The Prince of Wales afterwards visited the Dickie Bird commemorative statue, Church Lane, Barnsley.

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Trust, this afternoon visited University Campus Barnsley, Church Street, Barnsley.

The Prince of Wales afterwards visited Wentworth Castle Gardens, Lowe Lane, Stainborough, South Yorkshire.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, One Award Alliance, this afternoon attended a Lunch at the Savoy Hotel, Strand, London WC2.

His Royal Highness, Patron, National Youth Orchestras of Scotland, later held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Disability Initiative, this morning held a Meeting.

The Princess Royal, President, British Olympic Association, this afternoon held a Team 2012 Luncheon at St James’s Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Logistic Corps, later received Colonel Peter McCall upon relinquishing his appointment as Regimental Colonel and Colonel John Grinstead upon assuming the appointment.

The Princess Royal, Past Master, the Worshipful Company of Farmers, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended the Sixtieth Annual Banquet at Goldsmiths’ Hall, 13 Foster Lane, London EC2.
