COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this afternoon attended the Commonwealth Day Observance Service in Westminster Abbey and was received by the Dean of Westminster (the Very Reverend Dr John Hall) and the Chairman of the Council of Commonwealth Societies (the Lord Watson of Richmond).

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Countess of Wessex also attended.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were present this evening at a Reception given by the Commonwealth Secretary-General (His Excellency Mr Kamalesh Sharma) at Marlborough House.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership, and President, The Prince of Wales’s Business and Sustainability Programme, this evening gave a Dinner for The Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change at Clarence House.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning attended a Reception for “Women as Agents of Change”, the Town Hall, Hornton Street, London W8, and was received by Mr Richard Walker-Arnott (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York this morning received Mr Ian Powell (Chairman and Senior Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers UK).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Middle East Association, this afternoon received Mr Charles Hollis (Director General), Mr Michael Hodges (Chairman) and Dr Ranald Spiers (Director).

The Duke of York, Chairman of the Trustees, the Outward Bound Trust, this evening gave a Dinner at St James’s Palace.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal this morning visited the restored Osmington White Horse Chalk Landmark, White Horse Hill, Osmington, Weymouth, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset (Mrs Anthony Pitt-Rivers).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon re-opened Durlston Castle, Lighthouse Road, Swanage, Dorset.

The Princess Royal later visited Cherry Tree Nursery, New Road, Northbourne, Bournemouth, Dorset, and opened the Volunteers’ Tearoom.

Her Royal Highness afterwards opened the new Twin Sails Bridge across Poole Harbour, Dorset.

The Princess Royal, President, British Olympic Association, this evening attended the Nearest and Dearest Roadshow at Twickenham Stoop Stadium, Langhorn Drive, Twickenham, Middlesex.

Kensington Palace 

The Duchess of Gloucester, President, this afternoon attended a Meeting of the Governing Body, and this evening was present at a performance of The Magic Flute at the Royal Academy of Music, Marylebone Road, London NW1.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent, President, Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies, today received Professor Michael Clarke (Director) and Vice Admiral Rory Maclean (Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees).
