COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

Her Majesty held a Council at 5.30 p.m..

There were present: the Rt. Hon. Nicholas Clegg MP (Lord President), the Rt. Hon. Michael Gove MP (Secretary of State, Department for Education), the Rt. Hon. Owen Paterson MP (Secretary of State, Northern Ireland Office) and the Lord Strathclyde (Leader of the House of Lords and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster).

The Lord Menzies was sworn in as a member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

At the Council, The Queen, pricked the List of High Sheriffs for the Counties of England (other than Cornwall and those in the Duchy of Lancaster) and Wales.

After the Council, the Lord Strathclyde had an audience of The Queen when Her Majesty pricked the List of High Sheriffs for the Counties of the Duchy of Lancaster.

Mr. Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt. Hon. Nicholas Clegg MP had an audience of The Queen before the Council.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, today attended Receptions at St. James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Chairman, the Royal Collection Trust, this morning chaired a Meeting of the Trustees.

His Royal Highness this afternoon received Mr. Andrew Clarke (President and Chief Executive, Asda).

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Trust, this afternoon attended the United Kingdom Finals of the Celebrate Success Awards at the Odeon Cinema, Leicester Square, London WC2.

His Royal Highness, President, this evening visited the Royal College of Music, Prince Consort Road, London SW7, and was received by Brigadier Paul Orchard-Lisle (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning attended the Cheltenham Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning received Mr. Nemir Kirdar (Chairman and Chief Executive, Investcorp) and Mr. Scott Freidheim (Chief Executive Officer).

His Royal Highness received Professor the Lord Darzi of Denham (Global Ambassador for Health and Life Sciences and Chair of NHS Global).

The Duke of York, Freeman, the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights, and Grand Master, Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators, today received the Freedom of the City of London and was installed as a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights at Guildhall, London EC2, and subsequently attended a Luncheon.

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Crossrail Westbourne Park worksite at New Paddington Yard, London W11.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning attended a Trustees’ Meeting at Gulliver House, Madeira Walk, Windsor, Berkshire.

The Countess of Wessex, President, Move Europe, this morning held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Vision 2020: the Right to Sight, this afternoon held a Lunch at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Shooting Star Chase, later held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Chairman, Women in Business (promoting The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award), this evening attended a Reception at Coutts and Company, 440 Strand, London WC2.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers, this morning received Mr. John Timpson upon relinquishing his appointment as Master and Mr. Richard Page upon assuming the appointment.
