COURT CIRCULAR

Windsor Castle 

The Queen, Patron, Royal Engineers Association, this afternoon gave a Reception to mark the Centenary of the Association at Windsor Castle.

The Queen was represented by the Hon Mrs Rhodes at the Memorial Service for the Hon Shaun Plunket which was held in the Chapel of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London, SW3, this afternoon.

Clarence House 

The Duchess of Rothesay this morning visited the MacRobert Building at the University of Aberdeen, King’s College, Aberdeen, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Aberdeen (Councillor Peter Stephen, the Lord Provost).

Her Royal Highness, President, Barnardo’s, this afternoon visited Barnardo’s Aberdeen, Carden Place, Aberdeen.

The Duchess of Rothesay, President, the Maggie Keswick Jencks Cancer Caring Centres Trust, afterwards attended a Reception for the Monty’s Maggie’s Appeal at the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa, North Deeside Road, Pitfodels, Aberdeen.

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York this morning received His Excellency Mr Li Changchun (Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China).

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, on behalf of The Queen in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee, and accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, today carried out the following engagements.

Her Royal Highness this morning visited Admiralty House, Simon’s Town Naval Base, False Bay, near Cape Town, South Africa.

The Princess Royal later visited Izivunguvungu Sailing Project, Simon’s Town, False Bay.

Her Royal Highness subsequently visited Dido Commonwealth War Graves near Simon’s Town, and laid a wreath.

The Princess Royal this afternoon visited a British Council International Inspiration Project at Kwamfudo Secondary School, Ncumo Road, Harare, Khayelitsha, Western Cape.

Her Royal Highness later departed from South Africa for Mozambique and was received upon arrival at Maputo International Airport by Her Majesty’s High Commissioner to the Republic of Mozambique (His Excellency Mr Shaun Cleary).

The Princess Royal this evening attended a Dinner given by the British High Commissioner at the Residence in Maputo.

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester, President, the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, this morning conducted the Turf Cutting Ceremony to launch the renovation programme at Manson House, Northgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, and was received by Mr John Kerr (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk).

The Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon opened Crowborough Community Centre, Pine Grove, Crowborough, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex (Mr Peter Field).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, afterwards visited AgeCare (Royal Surgical Aid Society) to mark its One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary at High Broom, Stone Cross, Crowborough.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Elizabeth Finn Care, later opened the renovated Halliwell Care Home, Kingswood Road, Tunbridge Wells, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (the Viscount De L’Isle).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Patron, the Society for Army Historical Research, this evening presented the Templer Medal at the Special Forces Club, 8 Herbert Crescent, London SW1.
