Windsor Castle

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel, Grenadier Guards, was represented by Brigadier David Maddan (Regimental Lieutenant Colonel) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Colonel Nicholas Pakenham Mahon (formerly Regimental Colonel) which was held in St. Matthew’s Church, Rushall, Wiltshire, this afternoon.

Clarence House

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, Royal Colonel, The Black Watch, 3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, and 51st Highland, 7th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, and Royal Honorary Colonel, The Queen’s Own Yeomanry, this morning took the Salute at the Homecoming Parade in Forfar town centre for officers and soldiers who have recently returned from Afghanistan, and subsequently attended a Reception at the Royal British Legion, Academy Street, Forfar, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Angus (Mrs. Georgiana Osborne).

His Royal Highness, Royal Honorary Colonel, this afternoon presented operational service medals to members of The Queen’s Own Yeomanry, who have recently returned from Afghanistan, at the old Chapelpark Primary School, Academy Street, Forfar.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Honorary Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, this afternoon attended the Education Committee Meeting and later the Governor’s Dinner at Haberdashers’ Hall, 18 West Smithfield, London EC1.

The Princess Royal, on behalf of The Queen in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee, and accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, today carried out the following engagements in Mozambique.

Her Royal Highness this morning called upon The President of the Republic of Mozambique at the Presidential Offices, Julius Nyerere Avenue, Maputo.

The Princess Royal subsequently attended an Olympafrica “Ninety Nine Days to the Olympics” Ceremony, Boane, Maputo.

Her Royal Highness later visited Xipamanine Health Centre, Joaquim Chissano Avenue, Maputo.

The Princess Royal this afternoon attended a Receptiongiven by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Mozambique (His Excellency Mr. Shaun Cleary) at the Residence in Maputo.

Her Royal Highness afterwards attended a Church Service to commemorate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in Anglican Church, Parish of St. Stephen and St. Lawrence, 24 July Avenue, Maputo.

The Princess Royal later attended a Garden Party given by the British High Commissioner to commemorate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee at the British High Commission, Avenida Vladimir I Lenine, Maputo.

Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner given by Mr. Aires Aly MP (Prime Minister of Mozambique) at the Indy Congress Hotel and Spa, Sommerschield, Maputo.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this evening attended the Trades House of Glasgow Modern Apprentice of the Year Awards at the Trades Hall, 85 Glassford Street, Glasgow, and was received by Mr. John Chapman (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Chancellor, University of Surrey, this morning presented Higher Degrees in Guildford Cathedral, Surrey.
