COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

His Excellency Mr Miguel Fernandes Neto was received in audience by Her Majesty today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from Angola to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Neto was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr Hervey Naarendorp was received in audience by Her Majesty and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from Suriname to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Naarendorp-Sleur was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Simon Fraser (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

Mr David Hockney was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Member of the Order of Merit.

The Lord Fellowes (Secretary and Registrar of the Order of Merit) was in attendance.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of York, The Princess Royal, The Duke of Kent, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy and The Duchess of Gloucester were present.

Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms and The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.

The Band of the Royal Regiment of Artillery and The Royal Air Force Squadronaires played selections of music during the afternoon.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, the Federation of London Youth Clubs, this morning visited Bromley and Downham Youth Club, Bromley, Kent and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer)..

His Royal Highness, Patron, Anglo-Finnish Society, this evening attended a Centenary Dinner at Grocers’ Hall, London EC2.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, on behalf of The Queen in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee, today carried out engagements in Canada.

Their Royal Highnesses this morning attended a Reception at the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario (the Hon David Onley) in Toronto.

The Prince of Wales afterwards visited the Digital Media Zone at Ryerson University, 350 Victoria Street, Toronto.

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Pan-Parapan American Games Athletes’ Village, West Don Lands, Toronto.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon attended a Reception given by the Premier of Ontario (the Hon Dalton McGuinty) at the Thompson Landry Gallery, Distillery District, Toronto.

The Prince of Wales afterwards attended a “Seeing is Believing” Round table at Yonge Street Mission, Gerrard Street East, Toronto, and subsequently led a “Seeing is Believing” visit to the “UforChange” workshop site, 517 Parliament Street, Toronto.

His Royal Highness this afternoon held a Meeting with the Assembly of First Nations at the Royal York Hotel, Ontario.

The Prince of Wales, Lieutenant General of the Canadian Army, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, Colonel-in Chief, The Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada, this evening took the Salute at the 1812 Commemorative Military Muster at Fort York Armoury, 700 Fleet Street, Toronto, and were received by the Prime Minister of Canada (the Rt Hon Stephen Harper) and subsequently attended a Reception for representatives of Their Royal Highnesses’ Canadian regiments.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Colonel-in-Chief, this morning visited The Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada, and subsequently laid a wreath at the Memorial Wall, Moss Park Armoury, Toronto.

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon visited Isobel Mair School and Family Centre, 58 Stewarton Road, Newton Mearns, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Renfrewshire (Mr Guy Clark).

His Royal Highness, Vice Patron, the Commonwealth Games Federation, later visited their new Headquarters at Commonwealth House, 32 Albion Street, Glasgow, and was received by Dr Rajan Madhok (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow).

The Earl of Wessex, Vice Patron, the Commonwealth Games Federation, afterwards visited the Commonwealth Sports Arena and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, London Road, Glasgow.

His Royal Highness subsequently visited the Cargill Centre, Lochwinnoch Road, Kilmacolm.

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, Greenock Arts Guild, later visited the Beacon Theatre, Custom House Quay, Greenock.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Greenock Arts Guild, this evening attended a Dinner in Inverkip, Renfrewshire.

The Countess of Wessex, President, Girlguiding UK, this afternoon held a Meeting.

Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Scripture Union Reception at Lambeth Palace, London SE1.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Logistic Corps, this morning received General Sir Kevin O’Donoghue upon relinquishing his appointment as Master General of Logistics and Major General Mark Poffley upon assuming the appointment.

Her Royal Highness later laid a wreath at the Annual Chilean Navy Day wreath laying Service in Westminster Abbey, London SW1, and subsequently attended a Reception.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Women’s Royal Naval Service Benevolent Trust, this afternoon attended the Seventieth Anniversary Annual General Meeting and Reception at Mansion House, London EC4.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Hearing Link, this evening held a Dinner at St James’s Palace.

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this morning attended the Grand Council Meeting at the Shangri-La Sydney, 176 Cumberland Street, the Rocks, Sydney, Australia.

His Royal Highness, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this evening attended a Harbour Cruise Dinner, Sydney.
