COURT CIRCULAR

Palace of Holyroodhouse 

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Perth and were received in Tay Street by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Perth and Kinross (Brigadier Melville Jameson) and the Provost of Perth and Kinross (Councillor Liz Grant).

The Lord Provost surrendered to The Queen the Keys of the City, which Her Majesty returned to her.

The Duke of Edinburgh was presented with the Freedom of the City of Perth.

The Queen addressed those present.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards visited the Black Watch Castle and Museum, Balhousie Castle, Hay Street, Perth, to commemorate its Fiftieth Anniversary and were received by the Chairman of the Black Watch Trustees (Lieutenant General Sir Alistair Irwin) and Major (Retired) David McMicking (Chairman of the Development Committee).

Her Majesty, escorted by the Chairman of the Black Watch Trustees, and His Royal Highness, escorted by Major (Retired) David McMicking, viewed artefacts and met Black Watch veterans, and were briefed on the Black Watch Heritage Appeal and Museum development plans.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh later visited Perth College University of the Highlands and Islands, Crieff Road, Perth, and were received by the Principal (Dr Thomas Moore) and the Chairman of Perth College University of the Highlands and Islands Board (Mrs. Penny Brodie).

Her Majesty, escorted by the Principal, and His Royal Highness, escorted by Mr James Fraser (Principal, University of the Highlands and Islands), viewed exhibitions and met principals, chairmen and students of partner colleges, alumni and sponsors.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were this afternoon entertained to a Civic Luncheon given by Perth and Kinross Council at Scone Palace and were received by the Countess of Mansfield and the Viscount and Viscountess Stormont.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, this morning met members of the community affected by the recent floods in Hebden Bridge and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Dr Ingrid Roscoe).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the East of England Show at the East of England Showground, Peterborough, and was received by Her Majesty’s LordLieutenant of Cambridgeshire (Mr Hugh Duberly).

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York, Patron, On Course Foundation, this morning attended the Golf Day in the Great Park, Windsor Castle.

His Royal Highness this evening attended the Metropolitan Police Special Escort Group Reception at Lancaster House, Stable Yard, St James’s, London SW1.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, Visitor, this morning visited Strathcarron Hospice, Randolph Hill, Fankerton, Denny, Stirlingshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Stirling and Falkirk (Mrs Marjory McLachlan).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Wooden Spoon, and Patron, Seagull Trust Cruises, this afternoon opened the Seagull Trust Cruises Classroom Boat, Bantaskine Park, Falkirk.

The Princess Royal later visited the Falkirk Wheel, Lime Road, Tamfourhill, Falkirk, to mark its Tenth Anniversary.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this morning received Professor Anthony Mellows (Lord Prior).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this morning visited the Summer Science Exhibition at the Royal Society, 6 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1.
